October 25, 2021 (Reiwa 3) 10:30 AM ~ About a week ago, my wife stopped by on her way back from climbing Mt. Mizugaki and said the baths were excellent, so I decided to give them a try! The building is old, but well-maintained. Infection control measures are also in place during this time. The bathrooms are well-ventilated, and there are signs encouraging silent bathing. The customers are quiet and well-mannered! The hot spring baths are divided into: ① "37°C heated spring" ② "35°C heated spring" ③ "30°C heated spring" ④ "25°C unheated spring" ⑤ "42°C radium ore bath" The order of bathing is recommended: ① → ② → ③ → ④ → ⑤. It's especially difficult to start with ④ during the colder months of autumn and winter. However, once you're fully warmed up, ④ is addictive. Hot Spring Overview Spring Quality Carbon dioxide-sodium-chloride bicarbonate spring (hypertonic, neutral, low-temperature spring) Benefits Diabetes, gout, muscle fatigue, mental fatigue, circulatory disorders, rheumatism, allergies, visceral fatigue, atopic dermatitis, menopausal symptoms, liver dysfunction, cholelithiasis, etc.

First visit on Thursday, March 30, 2023 Currently closed indefinitely... I'd been interested in this facility because it offers free-flowing radium hot spring water. I checked the website and found out that the facility will be closed indefinitely starting in April 2023, so I made a last-minute visit. 🏃🏼 The hot springs consisted of three types: 30, 35, and 37°C, plus a radium-germanium mineral bath, for a total of four types. All three types of hot spring water were lukewarm, so I felt like I could enjoy a long soak even in hot weather. On the other hand, it might be a little cold in winter, so it might be a little unsatisfying. 🥶 There was a petition campaign going on at the reception to reopen the facility, so I signed it! I'd definitely like to return when it reopens. ✨

Carbon dioxide-containing, sodium chloride, bicarbonate spring, pH 6.3, earth-colored, cloudy water, 830 yen. Mist sauna and shampoos available. The source temperature is 27.3°C. Because the temperature is low, there are heated baths and unheated baths. I'm so grateful! 😆 A slightly carbonated salty bath! There were a variety of baths to choose from, and I enjoyed them all. The round bath felt different from the others. The bubbles were great, and it had a tingling, indescribable feeling—the carbonation really worked. 👍 Maybe it was the power of the stones? It was a mysterious feeling! The temperature is also low, so it might be more enjoyable in the summer. The lounge is spacious, so you can relax all day.

I stopped by a friend's house in Sakuho Town from Nagano City. I was 15 minutes later than planned, arriving around 10:15am, and there were already about eight people in the 35°C bath. I waited until it was clear and then soaked in the hot spring for about an hour and a half, then stopped by the soba restaurant I had planned to go to before heading home. It was pretty good. I hadn't been there in a few years due to COVID-19, but I heard it will be closing from April due to aging, so I'll go at the end of March. When I got there, it was a little quieter than expected for a Sunday. The dining hall was closed. I hope it reopens again.

One of Japan's three greatest radium hot spring resorts. Shingen's hidden hot spring. The water is an opaque brown. Because it's a therapeutic bath, everyone stayed in the bath for a long time, not even moving a millimeter. There wasn't enough space for me to get in, so I stayed in the clear 42-degree radium-germanium mineral bath, but the heavy feeling of the water pressing down on my whole body was amazing! And even though there were many people in the bath, no one made a sound, making it a perfectly silent bath! It was amazing! I can definitely recommend this place.
