Rating: 2.5 Received the Saitama Prefecture Special Award in the 17th Nifty Hot Spring Annual Rankings 2022 and was ranked in the Top 100 in the 12th @nifty Hot Spring Annual Rankings 2017. The 100% natural hot spring water is highly concentrated and characterized by its murky brown color. It also features a full-fledged swimming pool. Before the super sento, there was a swimming school. Waseda Natural Hot Spring Megumi no Yu, a hot spring facility that was dug 1,500 meters underground during the pool renovation, was featured on the TV show Ad-chakku Tengoku. Bathing fees are cash only, and the facility offers a dining hall and rest areas (both unisex and women-only). The baths are on the second floor, and the brown natural hot spring water, fed directly from the source, obscures your hands when submerged. As with my other reviews, I'm a man, so I'm only basing my review on the hot springs I've personally experienced (men's baths or baths that have been switched). Hair cleansers and other items are available. The water here comes out as bubbles, giving it a gentle feel. You can also pour hot or cold water over yourself while bathing or after sweating in the sauna. Bath Area/Indoor Bath: ① Sauna (86°C, 2 levels, 2 sauna stone heaters (hidden), TV available) ② Cold Bath: ③ Natural hot spring water (brown) ④ Natural hot spring water (brown) ⑤ Hot water (clear?) Outdoor Bath/Open-Air Bath: ⑥ Natural hot spring water (lighter than the brown, slightly shallower than ⑦ (about 5cm)) ⑦ Natural hot spring water (lighter than the brown, connected to ⑥ (about 5cm)) ⑧ Natural hot spring water (lighter than the brown) [⑥-⑧ are called Rainbow Baths] According to the map in the "Facility Guide," the men's and women's baths are different, and the men's outdoor baths ⑥-⑧ are called Rainbow Baths. The women's outdoor baths are the Funagata-style Denma-no-Yu and Tsubo-yu, and the women's only outdoor bath has an aroma sauna. However, the men's bath feels like it's just promoting the natural hot spring water directly from the source, with a large number of tubs, and without a sauna, cold bath, or outdoor bathing space, I personally felt it was a boring facility that just stayed hot. After this facility closes, it will be reborn as a small-scale hot spring facility.

★First visit: December 2025★ To put it mildly, this is an amazing hot spring facility. The water is straight from the source and of high quality. The bathrooms and bathtubs are spacious. There's a sauna, seating, and even an open-air bath. I don't want it to disappear. It would be a shame. A treasure of Misato that should be preserved. I wish they could somehow continue to operate it, by raising funds through crowdfunding or by a hotel buying it. ★Revisit: January 2026★ The hot spring was so good and I was so sad to leave, I returned 10 days later. Customers were reminiscing about Megumi no Yu while soaking in the bath. It's sad to think that I'll never be able to soak in this water again, but it makes me love it even more. I said goodbye to this hot spring about two weeks after discovering it. Thank you, Megumi no Yu.

As it is closing in March 2026, I stopped by after watching a soccer game. The hot spring water was amazing, with earthy metal elements and flowing directly from the source. Both the two indoor and two outdoor baths are luxuriously fed by the source. The cold bath also uses hot spring water, and I think it is an excellent facility. However, the electricity throughout the facility is kept low and it is dimly lit, giving the impression of frugality and showing signs of difficult management. With Aqua Ignis, Spa Metrza, Sumire and other spas nearby, I wonder if the 1,400 yen price tag is a problem...It is an onsen that I hope will somehow survive, as they use the water well.

We went here on a weekday. Upon entry, there's a locker for your shoes. All of their lockers needs a ¥100 coin but will be returned afterwards. Then you buy a ticket on a machine then give the ticket to the receptionist. All their facilities are on the 2nd floor. They have a bath area, rest area, massage chair area and a dining area. We also had dinner there. The place was spacious. They also have an extensive menu. I ordered the Saba Miso Set Meal. It was delicious. For the bath area. They have 3 indoor baths & 3 outdoor baths. They also have a sauna. The place was really clean and well kept. I really enjoyed my time here. Nice staffs too. Will definitely be back.

I visited on the last day, and as expected, this was truly the best place for me! During a tough time in my first year as a working adult, when I was physically and mentally exhausted, the newly opened Megumi no Yu saved me. The hot springs I soaked in multiple times a day, the delicious food, the warm smiles of the staff, and the casual time I spent in the break room. All of this gave me the energy to continue working until this day. Going to Megumi no Yu had become a part of my daily routine, so I'm really struggling to decide where to go next... I've heard that it may reopen in a different format, so I'm really looking forward to it! Thank you so much!
