Located in a "private house" 2-3 kilometers from Rifu Station, is the Dochinbo Onsen hot spring. The hot spring was "discovered" around 800 AD, and became a sacred spring in 1748. When it comes to hot springs in Miyagi Prefecture, there are countless names such as Akiu Onsen, Naruko Onsen, and Sakunami Onsen, but Dochinbo is a completely unknown hot spring. The entrance fee is 500 yen, the same price as a public bath. The first thing you notice is the silence. Perhaps because I went on a weekday morning, there were no other users, and for an hour, only silence passed. Yes, if I were to describe Dochinbo Onsen in one word, it would be "silence." The water is "lukewarm," so you can soak for a long time, and during that time, the only sound is the sound of flowing water. You feel as if this place is isolated from the world. You are enveloped in such silence. In modern society, soaking in lukewarm water and enjoying the "silence" is a truly refined and luxurious experience. It's a moment of pure bliss. Bathing is limited to one hour, and the interior has a "training camp"-like atmosphere, but it's better than some overly stylish, pandering facilities; it allows you to truly feel the passage of time. A secluded hot spring in a prime location in Rifu? Adults pay 500 yen, children 200 yen, handing the price to the old lady with the blue roof. Bathing is limited to one hour. Turn past the 7-Eleven and immediately down the left slope. It seems to be a traditional hot spring resort with a miraculous spring. A miraculous spring refers to a spring or hot spring with mysterious effects. I went to the bath around 13:30 and had it all to myself. The bath was clean and the environment was quiet. No shampoo or soap provided. I was initially told the water was around 20 degrees Celsius, but it seemed to be heated to around 38-40 degrees. I soaked my lower body for 40 minutes. I relaxed while fiddling with my smartphone. It was a good detox. Finally, I used a very powerful shower to cool down and finished my bath. You can take your valuables with you as there is a lock. No vending machines. The only downside is that the water is circulated and heated. Don't expect the water to overflow from the bathtub. If the hot spring wasn't circulated, it would be a 5-star rating.

Spring quality: Hot spring (metasilicic acid) as defined by the Hot Springs Act Free-flowing water: Circulating The water is colorless and transparent, but it leaves your skin feeling smooth and silky, giving it a true hot spring feel. The atmosphere, distinct from the surroundings, allowed me to relax and enjoy a soak.

When I got there around 10:30, it was fully booked. There were no Sharpeners, so please bring your own! Please pay at the house on the right (^-^)/

The atmosphere was nice, but the water felt more like a pool than a hot spring. It smelled strongly of chlorine, which was disappointing.
