A rare inn in Tohoku that allows pets to stay. (Pros) - The food was delicious. I was especially impressed by the excellent rice. The fish was also fresh. The homemade sesame tofu was also delicious. (Cons) - The building's age is unavoidable, and given the environment, insects are inevitable. - The room was extremely cold. I had to keep the heater on all the time, otherwise it was too cold to stay there. However, the heater alarm went off every 2-3 hours, so I had to get up in the middle of the night to turn it off, which was a hassle. - There was no toilet or sink in the room. The toilet was on the first floor. There was a shared water tap in front of the room, but it only had cold water. It was inconvenient to have to go to the bathhouse far away to wash my face in the morning. - Being able to stay with pets is a rare experience, but there were no amenities or cages. While I had to bring everything with me, it was unavoidable, but having to carry the cage, crate, and luggage up to my room on the second floor was a hassle. The staff didn't seem very helpful, so I gently asked for help with my luggage. In the end, when it was time to check out, I had to carry my luggage back and forth between the first and second floors myself. It's a small thing, but I was disappointed by the lack of consideration. When I arrived, there was a staff member at the front desk who seemed to have watched me park my car, but when I got out of my car and tried to enter the hotel, they seemed to have retreated into an office? There was no one at the front desk, so I called out loudly several times, but there was no answer and no one came. There were no other guests, so it didn't seem like they were very busy. I wondered why they must have known I had arrived, so why did they leave the front desk? If you're staying here expecting good service, consideration, and care, I think you'll be a little disappointed. It might be fine if you're just looking for good food and a bath.

A secluded inn close to Mt. Haguro. The building is quite old. It would be nice if the futons were new. The delicious food outweighs these drawbacks. The dinner, using local ingredients, was delicious, neither too little nor too much! The imoni potato stew was especially good. Dessert was included too. Another thing is the excellent quality of the hot spring water! The sodium chloride spring has a pleasant texture that feels great on the skin. It really warms you up. An optional extra is the inn's cat, which comes out to greet guests and then, like a cat, suddenly leaves. Overall, it's a good value for money inn. It's an old facility, so if you don't mind shared toilets, I recommend staying there. Seriously... I wish they could do something about the futons.

I used the baths for a day trip. It cost 500 yen for adults (as of September 13, 2025). The changing room is rather small. There are no lockers, but there are hairdryers. There are four washing areas. The shower pressure is weak. Shampoo and other amenities are provided. The indoor bath is small. There is no open-air bath or sauna. The spring water is a chloride spring, which is not unusual. With a pH of 8.3, it's alkaline, leaving your skin smooth. The water temperature isn't too high, so you can stay in for a long time. There is a relaxation area. The fact that it has a history of over a thousand years since its opening is appealing.

The delicious food and hot springs warmed me up, allowed me to sleep soundly, and helped me recover from my ailments. I could see the Jizo statues from the hot springs during my morning bath. The inn staff also helped me warm up. The rice was incredibly delicious. I got tired of hotels after a long trip, so I decided to stay at a hot spring inn. I booked on the day and didn't have meals, but I brought some things I bought in town. The hot springs were great in the cold season! The room was clean. The toilets were shared, but it was good value for money, so I was happy with it. The cats were cute too.
