This pale amber sodium sulfate hot spring is sure to be good for the skin. Located in a scenic spot, Tennis Village is home to an impressive tennis court. The changing rooms are spacious and we were happy to have the hot spring almost to ourselves. There are more than enough washing areas, and amenities are provided. The shower pressure is also satisfactory. The facilities include a large public bath, sauna, and cold bath. It's a shame that there is no open-air bath, considering the scenic location. Also, with so many tennis courts, it may feel a bit cramped if you bathe at the same time as the tennis players. There is a restaurant on site. And perhaps because it's in the mountains, there are many warnings about stink bugs.
Closed on Tuesdays. Cross the Hayakawa River and go clockwise along the river. Tennis court right next to it. 530 yen. 9am to 9am. Partially heated floor. Bath rest area on the second floor. 14 faucets. Shampoo body contains oil and is lined up in the center of the bathroom floor. Apparently they do take-out and stuffing. Sodium sulfide spring. Source temperature measured at 42.5 degrees. Only average indoor bath. Mini sauna and mini cold bath. The rest area has large tatami mats and chairs with TVs and manga between them. Massage equipment. Wooden pillows are nice. The restaurant on the first floor only serves noodles. The wild vegetable soba was delicious. 600 yen.
It would be great if the bathtub was a little bigger. The spring water is smooth and perfect. The washing area and changing room are spacious and there's even a sleeping area. More than anything, I think the bathing fee of 580 yen is cheap. The sauna is small but good value for money and better than nothing. They have lukewarm and hot water, and you can stretch your legs out in either and bathe while lying down. I wish the water from the faucets was a little hotter. If you're a JAF member you get a free towel.
On the way back from Babajima, I got off at the Namekawa side. I stopped off at a hot spring on the way. Those heading towards the Kanto region might want to take this route. The bath is heated with metasilicic acid, so it's lukewarm, and to prevent falls, the bath is two-level deep, with two different levels of temperature, high and low.
There are both regular-temperature and hot baths. The sauna room is hot, and the cold water bath is refreshingly cool. The sauna room seats 2-4 people (12-minute timer, 5-minute hourglass, and room temperature thermometer), the cold water bath seats 1-2 people, and there are two rest chairs.
