After parking your car, head to the building at the back, with the gymnasium on your right. Place your shoes in the free shoe locker and keep the key with you. At the reception, pay 400 yen for Nagaoka residents and 600 yen for non-residents to enter the bathhouse at the back on the left. In the changing room, you can choose between a free locker with a lock or a clothes basket. There are coin lockers on the way to the bathhouse, where you can store your valuables. There are three sinks and hair dryers are free. In the bathroom, there is one large bathtub, with a partial jet bath. The hot spring is diluted, heated, circulated, and disinfected with chlorine. There is no chlorine smell at all, so you can soak comfortably. The spring temperature is around 41-42°C. It's a temperature that makes it easy to soak for a long time. There are seven washing areas, and conditioner-in-shampoo and body soap are provided. Outside the large glass doors is an open-air bath. It's small enough to fit 4-5 people, but it has a nice rock bath-like feel! The spring water is hotter than the indoor bath, and the concrete at the bottom of the tub is rough, so it's not very comfortable... There's no sauna or anything, but for a public facility, the service was excellent and it was a hot spring I'd like to return to. The facilities are also clean, so I highly recommend it.

Currently, the facility is closed on Mondays and Fridays (open on public holidays), but it will soon return to being open only on Mondays. The water is a comfortable temperature, but for me it felt too hot for a long soak, and it might feel a bit hotter in the summer. I'm not sure if it was just the time of year, but the changing room was hot after a bath, and I wish they'd done something about it. Also, the quality of the rinse-in shampoo and body soap provided was poor. I have some complaints, but I think it's a great facility where you can relax and enjoy the hot springs at a great price.

This is a day-trip hot spring attached to a day care facility. The general public pays 600 yen, but Nagaoka residents only pay 400 yen, which is a bargain. I'm not a local, so I paid 600 yen, which is still on the cheaper side. The hot spring has both an indoor and outdoor bath, but the outdoor bath is only open from July to September, so please be careful if you plan on soaking in the outdoor bath. The water is a little hot. The outdoor bath is small, and the indoor bath is only large enough for about eight people. Most amenities, such as shampoo, body soap, and hair dryers, are provided, so you can use it with peace of mind. It's a bit disappointing that there's no dining area. 😢 I appreciate the free massage chairs. I ended up using them twice.

Apparently, long ago, Kobo Daishi struck the ground with his staff, causing a salt-containing hot spring to gush forth. Kobo Daishi seems to have caused water and hot springs to gush out in various places by striking them. This time, he was gushing salt, huh? lol The location is typical of rural areas in Niigata, so it doesn't quite have that "I've arrived at a hot spring!" or "out-of-the-ordinary" feeling. However, as it's a hot spring associated with Kobo Daishi, the water is excellent! The water content is a bit high, but it's a genuine, authentic hot spring with floating mineral deposits. It was a wonderfully warming bath that left my skin smooth and silky.

🚚 I used it after 9am on my way to deliver goods to Ojiya and collect them in Sanjo. Yesterday, I went to Chijimi no Sato Ojiya ♨️ Cross Ten Akashi no Yu ♨️.
