Nanakusa no Yu

It was a very satisfying inn and I was very happy. The food was simple yet delicious, and each dish, both in the evening and in the morning, was carefully prepared. The portions were generous! I also really liked the hot spring. It wasn't a strong-tasting type, but was gentle on the skin and easy to soak in, and I think the water quality is such that you won't get tired even if you soak for a long time. Everyone, especially the proprietress, was very considerate of us and we felt a natural sense of distance. They were neither too formal nor too familiar, but still friendly, and I was able to relax throughout my stay. The location was convenient, just a 2-3 minute walk from Kitamuki Kannon Temple, and Joraku-ji Temple and other temples are also within walking distance, so it was easy to explore nearby sightseeing spots. I think this is a recommended inn where you can enjoy both the hot springs and sightseeing at your own pace!
Bessho Onsen Nanakusa no Yu is perfectly located in a historic onsen town that’s over 1,000 years old, with the renowned Kitamuki Kannon temple just a stone's throw away. The hotel’s service is exceptional, with every staff member going above and beyond—from the welcoming reception team to the attentive meal service staff and the skilled kitchen team. A particular highlight was their thoughtful approach to accommodating our vegetarian family members. After communicating our dietary needs a month prior, the kitchen created a complete vegetarian meal set and even checked with us about our preferences for dairy. The fusion dishes they prepared were surprisingly delicious and a real treat for the palate. If you’re planning a trip to Nagano, don’t miss out on this charming onsen town, and the hospitality of Bessho Onsen Nanakusa no Yu.
I visited on a solo trip for two days and one night on February 18th and 19th. I received a call the morning of my departure, so I was able to head there in a good mood. They even confirmed my arrival time and took care of everything! The hotel was very clean, and the lady who guided me to my room, the landlady, and the people who picked me up and dropped me off were all very polite, which made me very happy☺️ The hot springs were so pleasant that I wanted to go back multiple times in the middle of the night, and the people who prepared my breakfast and dinner were very helpful and told me all about tourist spots. I was impressed with everything. I'd like to visit again in the fall, so I hope to see you there then!!
This is my third visit. I stayed here in February. First and foremost, it's the perfect inn for families with small children. The interior is covered with tatami mats, so you can walk around barefoot, which is very convenient for families with children. There's also a children's play area, which is great because they won't get bored. I was very satisfied with everything from the attentive service of the landlady and staff to the quality of the hot springs and delicious food. I have stayed at luxury inns all over Japan, but I have never found an inn with such good service. I live in Nagano Prefecture, and I am very grateful to have an inn like this nearby. I will definitely stay again. Thank you.
This was my first time at Bessho Onsen, and I am grateful for the wonderful hospitality and thoughtfulness. The hot springs, the food, the room, and everyone at the inn - everything was first class. On my way back, the proprietress gave me a ride back to Bessho Onsen Station, and I enjoyed our heartwarming conversation. She also showed me the movie "Detective, Your Backpack is Open," starring Matsuda Ryuhei, which was set in Bessho Onsen. I recommend Nanakusa-no-Yu in Bessho Onsen. I've stayed at many different inns, but this one is wonderful. Thank you to the proprietress and everyone else.
