Natural hot spring Kakitsubata

Great onsen just off the highway. In May 2025 it's only 930円 on the weekend, though it's extra for towels or access to the Korean cave style rock bath. The footbath out front is separate and is 100円. There is also a restaurant but we didn't try it. The onsen has big lockers with no need for coins. In the changeroom there are hairdryers, combs/brushes, and lotion. You can bring pet bottles into the onsen area and put them on the shelf with your towels. There is good quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Indoors there are jet massage baths, electric massage baths, hot bath, lukewarm bath, sauna and cold bath (16°C). Outside there are big pot-like individual baths, rocky hot baths, and a lie-down bath.
This was an amazing place to relax being in the area. The staff are so kind and helpful. The atmosphere of the place is relaxing and invites you to stay for long periods without feeling rushed. I liked the drinks I bought there as they were really good and refreshing.
If you find being around lots of naked old men relaxing, this is the place for you! Not for me however. Staff were nice.
onsen as a part of a road station - amazing and relaxing!
Looks very busy and not cheap. Also note, no tattoos
