Natural hot spring “Manten

The spring water quality is AMAZING! It’s all natural so there is a bit of iron and sulphuric smell to it, but my skin feels so smooth after taking a bath in it. They also have a super hot bath that really can warm your body to the core. Very recommended during autumn and winter to keep the cold away. Another thing that I like is their wet sauna that has lovely and relaxing Japanese mugwort (yomogi) fragrance. Really helped to wash away all the stress and fatigue from your daily life. Everything is nice BUT there are 2 reasons why I gave this place a 3 stars rating. 1. The drinks from the cafe on the second floor is kinda awful. ¥670 for a strong highball and what I get is a super weak soda water with a teeeeeeny tiny bit splash of whiskey. Not to mention the staff is super not friendly at all. And we do have to wait for him to come back from who knows where for at least 15mins. Oh and did I mention he was frowning the entire time? Btw the food is kinda OK though (it’s not super good, but at least it’s not as bad as the drink) 2. The ganbanyoku (spa) clothes are probably not properly cleaned. To be fair, I can see that they do wash and dry them. BUT if you think about it, people sweat in these clothes and probably there are some period of time where all these clothes are put into a storage bin before they get washed and therefore the smell is kinda soaked inside the clothes fiber itself. Like it’s not as if it’s full of bacteria, it just has unpleasant smell. I would recommend them to wash the clothes using hot water instead and considering they are running a bath house with plenty of hot water, I don’t think it’s a lot to ask for…. So maybe I will come back, with my own clothes and drinks….

The gendered discrepancy in toiletries—providing only basic shampoo and conditioner for women and excluding conditioner for men—might leave some feeling shortchanged. The absence of q-tips could also inconvenience patrons seeking minor grooming essentials. However, the facility compensates with ample opportunities for relaxation. Visitors can luxuriate and unwind for extended periods, as the space allows for prolonged resting and reclining. The availability of food is a welcome perk, albeit with a caveat; the selection remains limited, sticking to the basics rather than an expansive array of choices. A notable aspect worth mentioning is the perennially packed parking lot, indicating a consistent flow of visitors. Despite weekdays, the lot remains full, hinting at the establishment's popularity among locals or tourists. In essence, while the pricing and relaxation opportunities might attract patrons, the absence of certain amenities could deter those seeking a more comprehensive bathing experience.

Located beside some rice paddies and close to Teganuma Lake, you can enjoy the onsen while getting a countryside ambience. The facility was huge (2 wide floors) and there were lots of spaces to lounge in. There was a massage chair area facing the lake, and another tatami dining area on the second floor. There was a mini kids room for babies to crawl around in while watching TV. There were 2 saunas- yomogi and dry type. All other things you would expect to be at a complete spa facility was there including a barber and an outdoor foot spa, available until 6PM.

Came here on a public holiday Monday at 4pm. Place was relatively busy but not really bad. It's a decent onsen with a steam and dry sauna. The outside baths are great but it's somewhat small. They have two larger outside baths and two on the inside - they also have numerous smaller baths. Cost is reasonable at under 900 yen for adults and 500 for kids over 3. Cash only.

Such a great relaxing feeling after this onzen visit... I love to go there. We can spend min of 2 hrs without knowing even. It has esthe tub, dry sauna, steam sauna, cold tub, tubs with various sustances etc. It has outside as well and very nice. There is a lots of space in second floor to sit and relax, enjoy the sceneray etc. Love to go there again and again..
