Nyu Yamasemi Onsen

The road isn't too bad up to the village, but it becomes difficult to pass other vehicles from about 5km before the hot spring, and the road conditions worsen. However, I think there are only about 2km of sections where passing is completely impossible. There are quite a few fallen branches, so you may get a flat tire or damage to the body, but even a large four-wheel drive vehicle can get there. There are even worse roads in the mountainous areas of Wakayama and Nara, so if you've driven on those, it's a breeze. There's almost no traffic other than hot spring visitors, so you won't encounter many oncoming vehicles. The facility also seems to operate as a campground, so after descending, you'll find parking for about three cars at the top of a slightly narrow road towards the hot spring facility building, but it's best to park large vehicles below. The facility was cleaner than I expected, and the water has a slight chlorine smell, but is a little slippery and smooth. Ryujin is home to many other famous hot springs, so this is a hidden gem that's difficult to get to, with very few customers and plenty of room to relax. The owner was also very friendly! *1 indoor bath, 1 outdoor bath. Shampoo and body soap provided. Adults: 800 yen, Elementary school students: 400 yen. Infants: Free. Closed on Tuesdays. Hours: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

I went on a weekday evening. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a narrow road 3km before the arrival point that makes it difficult to pass other passengers. There was little traffic, so I didn't pass anyone. The bath, which was the most important part, was all my own. It was absolutely amazing. The pH is 9.2, so it makes your skin very smooth. Towels were on sale for 200 yen. There was a fishing harpoon, and as I was looking at it, the manager asked if I wanted to try it, so I gave it a go. I got halfway there, but it was tiring (^_^;) The manager was very friendly.

A Hidden Hot Spring in Kishu ♨️ As you approach the hot spring facility, the road narrows a bit, and passing oncoming traffic might be difficult. It was a private bath on a weekday afternoon. There are indoor and outdoor baths. Surrounded by a clear stream and mountains, you're sure to feel refreshed in this naturally rich environment. The water is free-flowing, and the slippery, whitening water seems good for the skin. There's also a campsite nearby.

This hot spring is located in a place that is difficult to access with a large car. There are only two baths, an indoor bath and an open-air bath, but they are clean and the baths are also nice. I had it all to myself. The only downside is that there is a beautiful river right next to the bath, but the wall blocks the view, which is a shame. This is a hot spring where you can really feel nature.

Some say the road before reaching the hot spring is difficult for two cars to pass each other, but it's like an easy beginner's level road. If you pay attention to the corners (they widen a bit), even if a car is coming from the opposite direction, you can react quickly. The hot spring itself is average. It's charming when there are no other people and you have it all to yourself.
