Odawara Ohoribata Manyo no Yu

The saviour for a tiring day as shelter / a night refuge seeking travellers with a natural onsen baths (the hot spring water carried by daily tanker trucks), a flat sleeping space (several types depending in preference and budget), relaxation functions and a fabulous versatile restaurant bar located at the heart of Odawara City. Crowded with local families, couples and friends who are also casually using this super Sentoh facility at the weekends, of course. If you search and get their service packages and/or coupons wisely, this building will really be a great oasis for your day in Odawara before or after your business there. I was happy with the treats in the restaurant (my service ticket helped), my pedalling vehicle sat in the parking space at BF and had enough rest on a reclining couch and tatami floor with a mat and blanket (a room was available but not that reasonable unless you're a super sensitive person). Their various bodywork services were not the cheapest in town but not that exploiting, either. What's more, the place is just a few minutes walk from the station and the castle. I love checking in any local ( or city) hotels and other forms of temporary accommodations whenever and wherever I go out, but using this kind of facility can be exceptionally recommended if one fits your itinerary and affinity.

There are large baths on the 5th floor, a relaxation room on the 4th floor, and smoking areas on the 2nd floor (near the elevator, which smells a little because it is small) and the 3rd floor (by the stairs). The temperature of the bath is about 42° hot. The water is so hot that if you stay in it for too long, you may get a little hot. Wifi seems to be available in the building, but it may not be available on the 5th floor. If you need to charge your cell phone or other devices, you should bring your own (not available in all relaxation rooms). Parking space is available for cars up to 2.1m in height, 5m in length, 1.8m in width, and 1.8t in weight. Because there is a limited menu, there is a delicious thing, and it is recommended for the member. 2023.05Revisit The temperature of a sauna was a little low 😿. The egg with fresh onion is delicious and inexpensive 😋.

Sauna lovers will be disappointed. (Especially for the price) The male section had two “herbal” saunas, one mist and one dry. Maybe they forgot to add the herbs that day, but I experienced nothing herbal. The dry sauna has the “ löyly” sauna is about 81 C, and the water comes out every 20 min or so. This facility is more for a family/extended family to take their kids while the adults relax. Perhaps its location as a rest point for long drives through the area is why even with such mediocre facilities and overpriced entrance, that people still come.

I’m genuinely surprised this place has a rating below 4—it truly doesn’t do it justice. I highly recommend it! It’s the perfect spot to unwind, conveniently located right next to the bullet train station. Ideal for relaxing after a day trip before heading back to Tokyo. Spend 2–3 peaceful hours here and treat yourself to a private massage session. Plus, the staff were kind enough to provide tattoo cover stickers, which was a thoughtful touch

The receptionist was very nice about helping me to check in despite 1) my total lack of Japanese language skills, 2) this being my first-ever visit to an onsen, and 3) my 12-year-old niece declining to visit the spa area (they have a nice gaming area and manga corner, where she spent an hour instead). The baths and spas were heavenly after a couple of days of walking and sightseeing. I will definitely return here on my next visit!
