The bath is small, about 2 tatami mats in size, but the hot spring water flows freely from the source. There is also a rest area of about 8 tatami mats in size. The fee is 500 yen per visit for up to 2 hours. The famous Oiwa open-air bath is an additional charge, so you will need to pay that separately at the hotel.
This is a warm hot spring loved by locals. I visited on a snowy day and the receptionist was very considerate as it was cold. It's not very large and the building is quite old, but it's a lovely hot spring with a charm that you can only find in the countryside. Apparently the water is usually quite hot.
This is perfect for people who like hot baths.
Day-trip hot spring facilities
Make a day of it — a quick-dry towel, dry bag, and post-soak layers take almost no pack space.
