Ogiya Inn

When I made the reservation, I had a completely preconceived image of the place being from the Showa era, so even though I had set the navigation system, I drove right past it 😅 The proprietress kindly came out into the cold to guide me to the parking lot. When I finally arrived at Ogiya and entered my room, I was transported back in time to the Showa era! It was a nice room! The bath is open to day visitors, so most of the people there are not staying overnight! The bathtub is big enough for about five people to bathe comfortably, but the washing area is best for two people! I think? The water is colorless, odorless, and transparent! It's hot. There is body soap and bar soap, but no shampoo! I realized later that there was some in the room! The Wi-Fi is a bit iffy in the evenings and during busy times, but it's fine late at night and early in the morning! I enjoyed a relaxing bath in my room in the morning! The lack of a bidet in the toilet is a slight minus, but it was a pretty good inn.

This was my first time staying at Futsukaichi Onsen. I stayed at this low-cost, free-flowing hot spring hotel to find a place to sleep. It appears to have been renovated, with a new exterior and reception, but the rooms and baths still have a Showa-era feel. The hot spring was quite hot, but it felt great. As other reviewers have mentioned, morning baths are not available, and the baths in the rooms are also unavailable, likely because they were renovated. Also, there was no hot water in the shared bathroom in the morning. A morning bath is an essential part of staying at a hot spring, so I gave the service a low score. The parking lot is small, only big enough for one car, and it was difficult to fit even a compact car in and out.

It's a charming place with a nostalgic, old-fashioned inn feel. If you enjoy that kind of atmosphere, I think it's irresistible. I love it! 😊 Plus, it's a natural hot spring ♪ The water isn't circulated with strange chemicals, so you can bathe in it with peace of mind. There's no sauna, but you can enjoy two different temperatures in the perfectly sized bathroom. There's also a parking lot that can accommodate two cars, so if you're lucky, you won't even have to pay for parking. PS: I recently visited and was told that the shower baths have been discontinued. Sadly, they're only available to guests.

I stayed here on a trip with friends! The proprietress was very polite and kind, so it was great. The room was also very spacious, so even though there were four of us we didn't feel cramped. Amenities were also provided, so I have no complaints! The hot spring was a little hot, but it felt great. However, the only disappointing thing is that the parking lot was difficult to find. It was a ryokan I would definitely stay at again! One thing to note about this ryokan is that it has a curfew of 11pm. The ryokan is locked after 11pm and you can't enter.

This is a long-established inn. There is free parking nearby. There are lockers with keys. There is no hairdryer. There are two bathtubs. It is an alkaline simple radium spring, a radon hot spring, which you may have heard of. The quality of the hot spring water is very good. The water temperature is quite hot. But that's a good thing. It feels like it penetrates every part of your body. There are other radon hot springs, but this one is my top recommendation. It's a very charming hot spring.
