Ononokomachi Hot Spring

We stopped by on the way to Kyotango. There was no one at the reception desk, but there was a vending machine to pay with, which dispensed a ticket with a QR code. You entered by placing the machine, which looked like an automatic ticket gate. You can safely store your shoes in a locked shoe cabinet. There are also locked lockers in the changing room, which is also convenient. You don't need to put any money in. There are three indoor baths, including a bubble bath, a bath where you can lie down, and a bath where you can relax, as well as an open-air bath, an open-air washing area, a tub-style cold water bath, and a sauna, and it's quite spacious. It was my first time there, but it was amazing! It's a hot spring that I'd like to visit again if I have the chance.

May 2025 Visited just for the hot spring. This is a rare hot spring with an outdoor washing area. The floor is slippery in many places, so be extremely careful with every step! The spring water is gentle on the skin, and the shampoo and body soap are of excellent quality. Only valuables are allowed in the lockers. I went at night, and the staff at both the men's and women's baths were very noisy. This is the fault of poor employee training. Parking was very easy. The staff at the front desk and nearby were polite and wonderful, but I prefer to enjoy the hot spring in peace if possible.

I wasn’t able to try the hot spring but went to the restaurant attached to this hot spring place. I don’t even know the name of the restaurant but they served me a good amount of food and it was very delicious! ;) It would be the best combination with meal and hot spring! I loved the vegetable donburi as I’m vegetarian!! Keep making vegetarian options and people like me can enjoy it and promote to other millions of vegetarian people in the world! :) Anyways, if you are around to take that hot spring, make sure to stop by this restaurant as well and enjoy! Very cozy boutique hotel. Uses lots of local vegetables and dishes for the restaurant meals. I was also able to have an experience making my own bara-zushi A local specialty. There is a very nice outdoor and indoor hot-spring And the rooms have been newly renovated and are quite lovely. The manager and a few staff also speak English which is very nice for foreign visitors

During the weekday afternoons, there are fewer customers, so sometimes it's just me and a junior colleague, and we have the place to ourselves, which gives us a chance to relax in the hot springs and sauna. 🎵 The outdoor cold water bath is warm (in the summer), so it's not enough to cool you down... In the winter, it's so cold you might freeze (lol).
