Following privatization and renovation, the price increased to 700 yen on weekdays (additional charges apply on weekends and during the New Year holidays). The shoe locker keys have QR codes, which manage admission tickets and facility usage fees all in one place, with full payment made upon departure (vending machine payments can also be combined with the bathing fee by scanning the QR code). While credit cards are accepted as one of the final payment methods, they are card-insertion type and do not support smartphone contactless payments. While 700 yen is an average price for day-trip hot springs on Honshu, it was in the 400 yen range when it was operated by Miyakonojo City (as of 2026, Takajo and Yamada no Yupoppo are still in the 400 yen range), and 400-500 yen is common in this region, so it feels somewhat expensive. Visited on the way from Rainbow sports land golf club to our hotel in Aoshima. used onsen without staying. Onsen was 500Y on weekdays and weekend price is more expensive. Each tub for hot, mild-hot(biggest), lukewarm and cold water. Water is slightly salty and very soft. Water is very clean though we visited late afternoon. Highlight is an open air bath. The shop provides quite a lot of grocery including fruits and vegetable, simple snacks. We bought some local orange and sweet potatoes and found later that the quality was good and the price was cheaper than a supermaket in Miyazaki city. If you have a car, definitely worth visiting. * English doesn' work well here.

The worst service.I was the only foreigner here and I was asked to leave the onsen.Yes,I have tattoos but I did not see any warning that says that I can not enter.Racist attitude,do not recommend to attend.My money was also not returned
