Otani Nishikisou

I saw a Reels video of this accommodation on Instagram and decided to stay in their glamping with a sauna. Good points: - There's a beautiful, shallow river nearby, a great place for preschoolers to enjoy. - The buggy provided for each unit was a lot of fun! - The BBQ cooked in a Dutch oven was delicious. - The area is surrounded by nature, and the stars in the night sky are beautiful. - A Salonia hairdryer is provided. - They give you fireworks as a gift if you write a review. Disappointing points: - Since you travel by car from the reception to the glamping facility, there's a 20-meter walk to the car after checking in. I was already carrying a lot of luggage and holding my child when the receptionist tried to hand me a Boston bag (containing a projector, children's toys, USB cables, etc.). I was already overwhelmed with luggage in both hands, and her expressionless attitude as she handed me the bag was irritating. I understand that guests are supposed to carry their own luggage, but I think they could have been more flexible and carried it for a few meters. At that point, I felt they had zero hospitality, which was disappointing. * Upon arriving at the glamping facility, there was a snake in front of the building, so I asked a male staff member to release it. He replied, "Huh? Me?" When I asked, "Is this snake safe as long as we don't harm it?", he grinned and replied, "No, not really, haha." He then grabbed the snake with a pair of tongs and released it, but I was still annoyed by the staff member's attitude. * The room was extremely dusty. I have a house dust allergy, but I've never experienced any symptoms in hotels or inns that are normally clean. However, after entering this glamping facility, I developed symptoms such as a runny nose, bloodshot eyes, and an itchy throat, which was very unpleasant. The coffee cups were also covered in dust, and I didn't feel like using them. * There were no drinks provided. The only water provided was two small 250ml bottles. I brought my own drinking water and some for my child and milk, but it wasn't enough. There were coffee beans and a coffee grinder in the room, so I wanted to make coffee for breakfast, but the complimentary water was already gone. I tried to buy some from the vending machine in the facility, but everything except barley tea was sold out. I tried to order water by phone, but only alcohol was listed on the menu. Some of the vending machines in the hot spring facility were also sold out. The coffee service is wonderful, so I wish they would either provide water for it or refill the vending machines. The main building is closed off at night, so I couldn't go there... - Buggy malfunction I was told that two out of five buggies were broken, so I had to take turns using them with other guests. But they advertise one buggy per building!? Our building's buggy wasn't broken, so I didn't say anything... - Self-service sauna I was told to carry the firewood myself, light the fire, and carefully manage the temperature, but they quietly added, "Be careful of carbon monoxide poisoning." I got scared and checked the room's instructions, and it said that if the light comes on, you need to ventilate the room for more than 6 minutes. I think they should have clearly explained the potential danger to life during the explanation. - There were an unusually large number of insects (this is unavoidable). I wanted to enjoy the sauna and the night sky, but I gave up because a huge number of flies, moths, and mosquitoes came in as soon as I opened the door even a little. Incidentally, there is a container for mosquito coils, but it's empty. (We brought our own insect repellent and placed a total of three, but it was useless.) - The refrigerator smelled bad. - The freezer wouldn't open due to frost, and part of it was cracked. Overall, my satisfaction level was low, and I won't be returning. Staff training and maintenance and improvement of facilities are things that can be fixed immediately, so I think they should do that right away. It's such a waste (>_<)

A glamping experience that was way beyond what was advertised. I stayed here with my boyfriend for glamping at the end of the year, and honestly, it was a pretty disappointing experience. First of all, the location of the glamping area was extremely confusing. While official guides and on-site signs indicated that check-in was in the same location as the main building, the actual glamping facility was about a 3-5 minute drive away, which is sure to confuse first-time visitors. We only found this out after we'd dropped off all our luggage. The check-in instructions were also unhelpful. They used a booklet with small photos and brief explanations, and the guide spoke in a low voice while wearing masks. Standing about a person's distance away, we couldn't see the text or hear much of the instructions. Also, after 6 PM, we had to open and close the glamping entrance gate ourselves, and it was completely locked after 8 PM. We had to get out of the car and operate the gate every time we went out or moved around. The advance explanation was insufficient, which was very stressful. Although the guest rooms were standalone, the curtains provided little privacy, meaning the interior could be seen from the outside, resulting in almost no privacy. The lock was simple and difficult to open and close. Furthermore, we were instructed to wait in our rooms between 5 and 6 p.m. while meals were being served, so we couldn't move around freely. My biggest complaint was the hot spring. It was one of the reasons I chose this facility, but the actual large public bath is very small, smaller than that of a typical business hotel. It was very different from the photos on the official website and Google Maps, and honestly, I felt they were exaggerated. If I had to point out some good points, they would be the taste of the food, the beautiful starry sky, and the electric buggy experience. Overall, the price and the experience were completely out of sync, so I cannot recommend it. I will not be returning. If you are still considering staying, you may find it more cost-effective to visit during periods other than the long weekend.

This is a luxurious facility where you can fully enjoy the nature of Tamba. The new building, completed two years ago (?), is very clean and, as you can see in the photos, a very comfortable space. However, the furnishings in the rooms seem to be reused older items, which gives it a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. There is no indication of the water quality of the hot spring, but it suited my body very well, so I bathed four times during my two-day, one-night stay. Depending on the time of day, there are a lot of guests from the nearby campsite or those staying elsewhere, so if you adjust your timing, you can enjoy a nearly private bath. For dinner, I had a kaiseki meal, which also had a heartwarming feel to it. The attentive service from the staff made it a very satisfying experience. Younger guests and those with children can enjoy BBQ, making it a valuable facility that can cater to the needs of a wide range of age groups. Combined with the reasonable price, the heartfelt hospitality of the staff made for a truly heartwarming experience. I'd like to visit again in the winter to try their wild boar hot pot.

I stayed with my family. I drank a bottle of water that was a gift in the fridge, but it turned out to be white wine. There was no other water, so I contacted a staff member, who also checked the fridge to make sure there was no water. They acknowledged their mistake and gave us some water. That's fine, but they charged me for wine that I didn't even want to drink. If it had been regular price, that would have been one thing, but it was a price that clearly showed they were making a profit. It was special water, but it was written somewhere, so I think it was also my fault for opening it by mistake, so if it had been regular price, I would have understood. I held back because it was a family trip that day, but I will make sure to write a full review here. Also, offering incentives such as fireworks in order to get a good review is a violation of Google policy.

We used this hotel for a 2-night, 3-day family trip. The BBQ set was luxurious, plentiful, and delicious. The seasoning is only salt and pepper, so if you're traveling with children, you might want to bring your own barbecue sauce. The buggy was faster than we expected, and the kids enjoyed it. You have to press the brakes firmly, so be careful not to go too fast, but they give you a thorough explanation beforehand. We were very satisfied enjoying the beautiful starry sky while sitting by the campfire.
