Otonashi Onsen

When I opened the door to the open-air bath, I found a staircase leading down, and the sight of nature before me was awe-inspiring. The stairs also had anti-slip surfaces, which was nice. There was an open-air bath where you could soak while listening to the sounds of the stream. It felt great. It was pretty empty, which was great, but my impression might be a little different if it was crowded. The indoor bath was quite hot and comfortable, and it was a circulating bath. The open-air bath was cooler and fed directly from the hot spring. I liked the hot indoor bath. On the other hand, there were two wooden box-like baths next to the open-air bath, which were introduced on the website, but they were empty and unusable. Also, some of the lights in the open-air bath were broken, giving the impression that they weren't being maintained. The restaurant had a wood-burning fireplace and a nice atmosphere, but the prices seemed quite high for the food. If I was going to pay the same price, I'd probably be better off eating elsewhere. Even if I did use the hot springs, I probably won't be using the restaurant again. You can enter the bath as many times as you like on the day by holding up the barcode on the ticket paper.

We stopped here on our way to see cherry blossom on our Japan trip , found this spa on Google map, we had a very good relaxing time here, it’s the best hot spring we have been , very clean and tidy , outdoor area is very nice with a good view. Water temperature is just right. A waiting area with foot massage. There were a restaurant next door too, food was amazing ! And the staffs working there were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for international tourists if you come this way.

Very clean onsen in a hotel that allows day trippers. Buy a ticket from a vending machine, scan the QR at a turnstile gate and enter the onsen. It has one indoor and an outdoor bath with a couple of casket drums. Some steps at Outdoor bath takes you an area overlooking a small cascading river. There are a few small rooms with sofa/ chairs for couples to relax. Add a cold water bath and a sauna it would have deserved a 5 stars ⭐️

This is a great onsen! It's not very big but the two pools it has are good. Especially the outside bath (rotenburo) has really nice views of the nearby forest. The place also has a very good restaurant that serves local specialties.
