RAKU SPA GARDEN 名古屋

Decided to visit it on the spur of the moment and took the free shuttle bus from Sakae station. First you keep your shoes in a locker, then you register to go in and get your onsen clothes and towel. All lockers are based on the wrist key/payment token you were issued and you will use the token to pay for everything on the premises. Manga fans will love this place because there are loads of titles to be enjoyed (in Japanese, no english). You can spend the entire day here, there are great onsen facilities, massage, hair salon, food, hot and cold rooms, and plenty of places to just take a nap. 10/10 will come again if i ever return to Nagoya. Too bad the Odaiba Ōedo-Onsen Monogatari in Tokyo closed down permanently, but this is a wonderful place to be. It even ties up with the latest trends like Pokémon and Hololive. Ps: when u exit, use the QR code issued after payment and keep it to give to the shuttle bus driver after you leave. The timings are on the website.

The truth is: I would go to Raku Spa Garden every day if I could. I was actually thinking they should have some kind of annual pass 😁. I mean, I live far from it (about 2h drive) but I try going as frequently as possible. The place is amazing and so much more than an onsen location. There are different areas we can choose to just hang and relax. Different environments for whatever mood you're in. There are also private rooms that can be rented for an additional cost and includes various things such as video games or karaoke. For those who like reading Japanese comic books, there's a huge selection available with open and free access. Last, but not least, there are a couple of restaurants and the food is great!! Not to mention that they sell Godiva milkshakes and Cremia ice cream!!

Rude staff….i got a super tiny cartoon tattoo and already covered it with bandage, the staff suspect its tattoo and didn’t allow us in. I am carrying with me a 5 year old kid and explained we drove long way here and the kid would be super disappointed, still didn’t let us in…I know it’s a rule but honesty we’ve been to other Raku Spa before for many times, never been challenged Very disappointing experience after a long tired day looking for refreshment with the kid. I had a lot of great experience with Raku Spa before but this one is really the first time I gpt so disappointed

Good variety of spas (42C to 38C although not natural) 4 pools, bubbles, cold bath (15C), bath tubs, recliner with flowing water. Good selection of tasty food and rest area and small play area. If you eat you can stay for a defined longer period without extra charge. HOWEVER please check they have applied the discount at checkout and do not charge for extra time as the last five times when we have been they did not apply the discount unless we asked ask. Hence I give three stars as it seems dishonest they do not apply it automatically.

The relax area of this onsen is huge!!! It was a little complicated to find the entrance as you enter on the ground floor but pay on the first then the relax areas are on floor 3 and 4!!! There is free coffee and water, the pajamas and towels are included in the price. It was not cheap (I paid ¥2800) but it was impressive. It was very crowded but it’s Saturday evening so maybe that’s why. The actual onsen part is quite small but it did have all the baths I like and a salt and regular sauna.
