Title: Bliss next door to the hotel! Enjoy a guest discount at this authentic hot spring with a sauna and open-air bath! Text: On October 18, 2025, while staying at Super Hotel Izumo Ekimae, I heard that while the hotel doesn't have a large public bath, it offers a guest discount on the adjacent "Rampu no Yu" bath, so I immediately checked it out. It's about 100 meters west of the hotel, so it really feels like a "next door" location. So convenient! As soon as I entered, there was a shoe locker, so I left my shoes there and went to the reception. I presented the ticket I received from the hotel and was able to enter smoothly. The changing room was clean, and both the large lockers for clothes and the small valuables box had locks, all free of charge, which was a nice bonus. There was also a hair dryer in the sink, which I was able to use for free. 😊 Now, off to the men's bath. Inside, there was a single shower booth and a row of washing areas along the wall. Shampoo and body soap were provided, so all I needed to do was bring a towel from the hotel—it was super convenient. The indoor hot spring was deep enough that your shoulders would be exposed if you sat down. Personally, I found the water a little hot, but the large glass window offered a sense of openness. I then headed to the open-air area through the side door. First, I entered the sauna. There were already three other people there, and it was compact enough that it would have been full if I had entered. But it was still hot and felt great! After leaving the sauna, I cooled off in the cold bath right next to it, and then I noticed two single-person hot springs (similar to box baths). One of them happened to be empty, so I decided to try it. The water was also quite hot, and once I was up to my shoulders, it felt like all the fatigue from my trip melted away in an instant...♨️ In the box bath next door, a family was having a fun bath, which made me feel very warm and fuzzy. I quickly washed off the sweat in the shower and headed to the changing room. Just outside the bath was a small rest area, where some people were waiting for their companions. Even though the hotel doesn't have a public bath, being able to enter such a nearby, authentic hot spring (with a sauna!) at a discount feels like a real bargain. If you're staying near Izumo Station, I highly recommend stopping by this wonderful hot spring!

Izumo Ekimae Onsen Lamp no Yu♨ A day-trip hot spring with free-flowing hot spring water, located just a two-minute walk from JR Izumo-shi Station. The building's lighting is enveloped in soft, lamp-like incandescent light, creating a lovely atmosphere. Combined with the building's extensive use of wood, this retro-inspired design creates a truly lovely atmosphere. The bathing fee is 950 yen, and tickets are purchased from the ticket machine next to the front desk. The changing room is quite spacious, and there are 16 slightly larger lockers with locks. The washing area features a high-positioned standing shower on the left wall as you enter the bath, and five shower faucets with hoses and individual partitions next to it. There are also four shower faucets with hoses to the right of the entrance. For a total of nine washing areas, The bathtub is a large cypress bathtub filled with free-flowing brown spring water! The cypress bathtub exudes a woody scent, providing a truly relaxing experience. The open-air bath ♨ features three wooden-framed baths, each suitable for one person. With a bamboo grove right in front of it, it's incredibly quiet. The open-air bath ♨, with its individual wooden-framed baths and a view of the bamboo forest, offers an indescribably refreshing and relaxing atmosphere. Next to the open-air bath ♨ is a sauna and a cold bath, also reserved for one person. From here, you can also enjoy a view of the bamboo grove. After warming up in the indoor bath ♨ or open-air bath ♨, the cold bath is the best. Even though it's so close to the station, the natural hot spring ♨ is calming and tranquil. Lamp no Yu is a hot spring facility that opened in 2004 in Ekiminamicho, Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, just south of JR Izumo Station. It was completely destroyed in a boiler fire in 2018, but reopened the same year after renovations. Opening hours are 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, and admission is 950 yen for adults. This high-quality hot spring draws its water from a hot spring source 1,800 meters underground, boasting 20 different health benefits. This famous Izumo hot spring offers a relaxing atmosphere, with the scent of cypress and the glow of lamplight, while overlooking the bamboo forest. The facility features a cypress and lamp-decorated bathroom, an open-air bath, and a sauna. The water is a calcium-sodium chloride spring rich in iron, and is always flowing freely. Far-infrared dry saunas have many health benefits, including promoting blood circulation, improving metabolism and immunity, detoxifying, improving cardiopulmonary function, and relieving stress.

I visited this place on Sunday, August 3rd, while on a trip. It was a short walk from Izumo City Station, so I headed there at 10 AM when it opened. However, it looked more like a restaurant, so I walked right past it. I checked the map and made a U-turn. The free rooibos tea was a nice touch. I bought a ticket from the vending machine. 950 yen for the hot spring and 400 yen for a rental bath towel was a bit pricey. The hot spring water was pleasant, and although the sauna room felt small with only about three people, it was around 88°C and very dry. It was silent, but the sound of cicadas provided a nice summery background music. The cold plunge pool only fit one person, but it was fantastic! Then, relaxing on the relaxation chair while looking at the bamboo and enjoying the fresh air was amazing! The dim lighting was also nice, and I had a great time.

I used the bath on my way home from work. The atmosphere of the building was particularly nice, and the lamp-lit space and view from the open-air bath created an extraordinary atmosphere that was very soothing. The hot spring water was soft and smooth, and my skin felt moisturized after bathing, and my body felt warm and comfortable. I have sensitive skin, so I'm happy to have body soap and shampoo that are gentle on the skin. The staff were courteous and the bath and changing rooms were kept meticulously clean, which really made me feel the hospitality they offered. I will continue to use the bath regularly.
