Rokugasako ryokan & onsen

I stayed overnight. The hot spring water was mineral spring water, which is very rare, and my skin felt incredibly smooth after getting out. It was truly a wonderful and amazing hot spring experience. However, the inn needs to be cleaner. First, the air conditioner in the room smelled musty. The smell was awful. It permeated my clothes and bedding. How long has it been since the balcony was cleaned? The shared toilet also seemed to only have the bowl polished, and I was shocked to see the area underneath completely black. To top it all off, the water wouldn't flush. Absolutely unacceptable. The lobby was clean, but the stairs and corners were incredibly dusty. The worst part was the bathroom. It was covered in black mold, and a dirty sponge, presumably used for cleaning, was left lying around. I couldn't possibly brush my teeth there. The bathroom sink was also covered in cobwebs and swarms of small insects, which was disgusting. And to top it all off, there was no hairdryer provided, even though I was staying overnight. I brought my own hairdryer, and when I was using it in my room, the circuit breaker tripped. I was shocked! I managed to find it and plug it back in, turned off all the other lights, but the breaker tripped again. What's going on? Do they really think guests can have a pleasant stay like this? I got a discount, so I can tolerate it a little, but if I paid the regular price, they'd charge at least 10,000 yen per person with two meals included. It's absolutely unacceptable. Furthermore, my check-in was at 4 PM, but I arrived about 30 minutes early and even contacted them, yet they locked the door and made me wait outside in the heat. Even if they didn't let me into my room, they could have at least let me into the lobby. Zero consideration. This place should only be used for day trips. The hot springs are nice, but because the staff didn't clean properly, I never want to stay there again. It's such a waste. If you're interested, you should be prepared for a very unpleasant experience.

A must-visit hot spring for hot spring lovers. Although I had some concerns after researching images of handprints, the facility was clean and there were almost no negative aspects. The baths are separated for men and women, with hot water, lukewarm water, and a natural spring bath, as well as a separate mixed-gender bath that evokes a sense of history. The separate men's and women's bathrooms have showers and shampoo, and the facilities are more than adequate. In the mixed-gender bath, a large amount of dark brown mud had settled at the bottom of the tub, which was the source of the handprints. The mud was completely free of dirt and grime, and felt nice to the touch. If I had to mention any downsides, it would be that the indoor bath smelled slightly musty, and I was bitten in several places by large mosquitoes because the mixed-gender bath is connected to the outside. The service was polite, and I feel this inn deserves more customers. Additional information: Operating hours are from 4 PM for about 2 hours. Check-in was at 3:50 PM, 500 yen/person

This authentic hot spring, rich in iron and similar to Arima Onsen, is a must-see for hot spring lovers. The water is very smooth and feels great on the skin. I would give it five stars for the quality of the hot spring, but the facilities are a bit Showa-era. That being said, I gave it three stars. I dropped in for a quick visit, but even after calling, it took a while for someone to come out, so I had to wait a bit. When I went, it was practically empty. The water was lukewarm, so I was able to soak for a long time. There was a statue of Yakushi Jizo in front, and I felt a sense of awe at the power of nature, even a little scared. I visited a long time ago, but it's still a famous hot spring known only to those in the know, so it's still going strong. I would recommend it to people who truly appreciate the benefits of hot springs.

There were at least three mosquitoes flying around the changing room in the bathroom, the lockers were very simple and the doors were dirty even though they had been wiped down. The bathroom floor felt rough, like pebbles, under the soles of my feet and the shower head hadn't been cleaned either. The hot spring quality is probably good, but the entire inn is unsanitary. If they're going to stay open, I hope they take the time to properly clean it up. You only need to go in once before dinner when you arrive at the inn and then never again. It's to the point where you just want to go home. It's a tough place for people who like neatness. There was hair on the sheets too, so they probably hadn't been changed!

A well-established hot spring inn deep in the mountains. I stayed on a room-only eco-plan. The building is quite old everywhere. There's a lingering smell. There's no elevator, and the stairs are quite ruthless. The hot springs were fantastic! Especially the cold spring! ! Try touching the bottom corners with your feet. There's a lot of fine, clayey material. You can do a mud pack. The feeling after bathing is amazing! ! ! The altars and other things on the way to the hot springs have a mystical atmosphere and evoke a sense of romance. It's dimly lit, and I totally understand the reviews that say it can be scary if you're alone (lol).
