Ryujinonsen Kayaze Hot Spring

Official Name: Ryujin Onsen Kayaze no Yu Type: Day-trip hot spring facility Water Quality: Bicarbonate spring This is a natural hot spring♨️. The water is abundant and flows directly from the source. Although the water is colorless and transparent, it's clearly a hot spring♨️ upon entering. The warmth lasts for several hours. This is one of the best hot springs♨️, on par with Nagasaki Prefecture's most famous Unzen Onsen (with its cloudy white water). It's a hidden gem. I think it's better than Kyushu's famous Yufuin Onsen, Saga Prefecture's most famous Ureshino Onsen, and Gunma Prefecture's famous Ikaho Onsen. I highly recommend it. Note: There are two hot springs in Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture: this one and "Omura Yunohana Natural Hot Spring" (near Nagasaki Airport). The latter is a so-called "mineral spring," and is heated due to its low source temperature. The water quality is chloride spring. Located near Omura Bay, this hot spring is salty ♨️. Its color is iron-colored. Because it's located in the city center, it gets crowded even during the daytime on weekdays. It's conveniently located with a restaurant, a chiropractic massage room, and an exfoliation room. Effects Drinking Drinking facilities are available near the reception, and you can fill your own bottled hot spring water with it for free. How to Use The reception is located in a building along the national highway. Pay the bathing fee at the counter (cash only), then proceed to a separate building (yellow building) for separate bathing areas for men and women. Parking Free parking is available. On the building side are Parking Lot 1 (approx. 20 cars) and Parking Lot 3 (approx. 5 cars), and directly across the road (national highway) is Parking Lot 2 (approx. 20 cars). Campers are also allowed in Parking Lot 1. Customer Demographics During weekday daytime hours, it seems like there are a lot of elderly customers. Most likely locals. Service Good. Shoeing Shoes are strictly prohibited in the bathing building. You can store your shoes in the shoe lockers ("tana") at the entrance. There is no charge. Undressing There are laundry baskets and lockers with locks (free of charge). Hot Spring Facilities Indoors, there is a washing area and one large bath that can accommodate approximately 30 people, and outdoors, there is an open-air bath that can accommodate approximately 15 people. Please note that there are no saunas, waterfall baths, electric baths, beauty baths, or reclining baths.

I stopped by on my way back from Gundake. The bathing fee is 800 yen, but if you say you're on your way back from mountain climbing, it's 600 yen. After paying at the small building at the entrance, walk down the road and you'll find the building on the left. Once inside, the women's bath is on the right and the men's is on the left. There's an open-air bath, but it was lukewarm. Locals told me it's a therapeutic bath, so the water is lukewarm, but today it was especially lukewarm.♨️ I had no choice but to move to the indoor bath. It was warm and perfect. The water is simple spring water, almost transparent, but a little red from the iron. It has no smell and feels nice and warm on the skin. There's no lobby-like rest area when you exit the bath. The water was nice and didn't cool down easily.

This was my first visit to one of the 88 hot springs in Kyushu. It's difficult to come by public transportation. It's about 4km from Shin-Omura Station. To be honest, I thought it would be 800 yen, but when I actually went in, I realized it was worth it. It warmed me from the core of my body. The spring quality is hydrogen carbonate spring, and the source temperature is around 25℃. The indoor bath was 41℃ and the outdoor bath was lukewarm. There was something like a bath lid floating in the open-air bath to prevent heat from escaping. Partly because of that, it was difficult to get in once a few people entered. Body soap and conditioner shampoo were installed, and some health towels were also hung. It might be a good idea to come during the firefly season.

The specifications are nothing special, with a pH of 6.6 and 78.7mg of metasilicic acid. The spring temperature is 25.5°C, so it's heated in a boiler. Sensory findings are colorless, clear, tasteless, and have a slight hydrogen sulfide odor. It's a free-flowing hot spring. The water temperature is generally low, making it comfortable to bathe in. On that day, the order was indoor bath > open-air bath (higher) > open-air bath (lower). Both open-air baths are low, making them ideal for long soaks. According to bathers, the water color varies depending on the day because it's natural. Apparently, my visit was a bad day. The post-bath feeling was modest. The entrance fee, 800 yen, is a bit high considering the facilities, and payment is cash only.

The spring water was slightly viscous, which suited my skin well 🙌 The indoor bath was 42℃, while the outdoor baths were around 39℃ and 36℃, likely due to the lower outside temperature that day. The outdoor baths were perfect for a long soak 😊 It seems to be a popular gathering place for local elderly people. I joined them and chatted about hot springs 😂 That was fun too ✨ Admission is 800 yen for general admission, but it seems you can get in for about 550 yen per visit if you buy a multi-visit pass! The facilities feel a bit old, but I think it has a nice, rustic charm. Those who are very particular about cleanliness should be aware 😊
