Saginosu Onsen Yumotoya Inn

A meticulously maintained inn with a nostalgic atmosphere. The food is simple, handmade, and delicious, but the quality of the ingredients shines through. (It's easier to eat and tastier than the mediocre meals at luxury inns.) The hot spring isn't large, but it's incredibly clean, the water quality is excellent, and it left my skin feeling silky smooth. The garden is also well-maintained, and even though I only stayed one night, I felt incredibly relaxed. It wasn't listed on any reservation sites, so I made a reservation over the phone. It was spacious and comfortable, even though it was a Saturday. We went to see the sea of clouds at Bitchu Matsuyama Castle early in the morning, and enjoyed the spectacular view of the sea of clouds, Bitchu Matsuyama Castle, and a rainbow. I'd love to come back, and I hope they maintain this atmosphere forever. This was a great inn.
I've been to this day spa several times. Reservations are required beforehand, and they also serve lunch, which must be reserved in advance. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. There are two hot springs, a small one and a slightly larger one, and both are private, so you can relax in them. The shower is also from the hot spring itself. When I washed before getting in, the water had a high pH of 9.8, which made it feel slippery and pleasant, like I'd just peeled a layer of skin. Soaking in the bath left me feeling a different kind of slippery sensation, and after my bath, I felt smooth and silky, with no chill after the bath. It was a really great hot spring. I've been to many hot springs in the prefecture, but in my opinion, this is the best one in the prefecture. I'll go again.
It's an old building, but it's been renovated in many places. The tatami mats are new, and although the toilets are shared, they're Western-style and clean. The prices are reasonable. The food is delicious. The hot spring water is thick and delicious. I don't know if the soap has fallen off. One thing to be careful of is that the doors have been renovated in many places and are very slippery, so be careful not to make noise. The landlady was kind and said I could have dinner in my room, but I ate in the dining room. I liked it so much that I made a reservation for the next day. It's a hidden gem.
The water was thick and creamy, and truly the best. If it's available, you can lock the door and it seems like it's possible for families to reserve the bath together. There is a time limit of about an hour. The room and bath were both spotlessly cleaned, and we had a wonderful time. The food, of course, and the rice were surprisingly delicious - I was impressed! It might have been because of the time of year, but there were about seven stink bugs in the room I used, and it smelled really bad... It was a struggle to get them out, but other than that it was perfect. I'd love to come again!
I stayed overnight. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and I had a very pleasant stay. I read reviews that the food was delicious, so I only booked dinner. It really was delicious! The hot spring water was incredibly smooth and wonderful! However, there was one drawback... The bathing hours were far too short. From 5 PM to 10 PM on the day of my stay. When I tried to go in the morning, I was told, "It's a cold spring, so it's not open in the morning." I stayed there specifically for the hot springs, so I wish they had mentioned that on their website.
