*I removed one star due to the issue with the tub bath. On the way back from viewing the autumn leaves in mid-November, my family and I chose this hot spring because we love the wide variety of onsen available. It seemed like a lot of locals were there. There were many families, but there were also quite a few pairs of women, and even one group of three. We also had a meal there. I ordered the fried chicken set meal and it came with my favorite chawanmushi, which I was so impressed with! The carbonated spring was very pleasant and the temperature was just right, so I was able to stay in it for a long time. There was also my favorite jacuzzi, but it might have been a little hot. When we went to the open-air bath, there were three tub baths. They were all full, so we waited in another one. However, the water was too hot to stay in for long, so we moved to another bath. This one was also quite hot. And the tub bath never emptied! I gave up and went to the indoor bath. When I returned a few minutes later, it was still there! After waiting for about 10 minutes in a nearby bath with only the lower half of my body immersed, a spot finally opened up, so I tried to get in, but a group of two who had arrived later almost got there, so I hurried in. Naturally, I assumed the people in the two tub baths who had been in first would leave first, but I was surprised that they were still in the bath five minutes later, when I left. I looked behind me and saw two groups waiting, so I left. I wish people would be a little more considerate of others. After all, we're all paying the same price. It's interesting to people-watch in a hot spring, as you can get a glimpse of the local people's personalities. Most of the hot springs here have relatively hot water. It might be good for people who like it hot. I felt dizzy from admiring the autumn leaves that day, so I didn't go in the sauna, so these are my impressions of the bath only.

On January 21, 2026, I went to Sakado Natural Hot Springs "Furusato no Yu." It's a quiet, open area near the intersection of the Kan'etsu Expressway and the Koma River. The parking lot was spacious, and for some reason, there were several food vending machines. My runner's blood started pumping, so I ran a few kilometers along the Koma River. I worked up a nice sweat and felt great. Now, off to the hot springs ♨️ Admission is 980 yen per adult on weekdays, 1,100 yen per adult on weekends and holidays. Cash only; cashless payment is not accepted. The locked shoe lockers are free and require no deposit, which is convenient and nice. The bath is on the second floor, so you can take the elevator or stairs, then go through the noren curtain to the changing room. Like the shoe lockers, the lockers can be locked without 100 yen coins. It's a pain to have to carry 100 yen coins, isn't it? The baths are fully equipped, including carbonated springs, a jacuzzi, an open-air bath, a tub bath, a dry sauna, a salt sauna, and a cold bath. All but the carbonated spring are a little hot at 42-43°C, while the sauna is quite cool at 75-80°C. There's a TV, so you can watch it at your leisure. The cold bath is located outside the door, on the open-air side. Once you're ready, head back to the first floor for a sauna break and a meal. The restaurant "Koma no Sato" is spacious, with 36 tables and 44 tatami rooms. There are plenty of manga books. There's also a private relaxation room with chairs and cushions. It looks like a very relaxing place. Smokers are welcome, too. It's located on the second-floor balcony. Naturally, it's cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Please be mindful of your surroundings. It's a bit cramped, but I appreciate it. 🚬 Overall, my experience at Sakado Natural Hot Springs Furusato no Yu was quite good.

◯ It's a little far from the station, but it's open long hours, making it convenient. ◯ Because it's a circulating bath, the smell of disinfectant is strong, but it seems good for people who like carbonated springs. There's also an open-air bath. ◯ It also has a sauna, manga/rest area, and a restaurant, making it a great value for a relaxing day. △ Since it's far from the station, it might seem a bit pricey if you just want to pop in and go home. A secret favorite. While the facilities aren't particularly new, and there are noticeable signs of aging and areas in need of repair within the hot springs (it has a nostalgic feel from the late Showa to mid-Heisei era), the atmosphere, clientele, and staff service are excellent. I believe the quality of a hot spring facility is generally determined by the academic level of the nearby universities, and in that respect, this place is considerably better than others. There's a space where you can enjoy TV or manga while lying down, allowing you to relax to your heart's content for the full duration of your visit. I was surprised by how low the water temperature was. In the summer, the air temperature and body temperature are definitely hotter. However, the water quality is good, so figuring out how to cope with the lukewarm temperature is also enjoyable. I like to combine it with the sauna, carbonated bath, and jacuzzi. The men's sauna has a salt sauna and a three-tiered staircase sauna. The dining area is ticket-based; you take your ticket to the counter, and tableware, condiments, and water are self-service, with a choice of water, tea, or roasted green tea. A relaxing and pleasant facility that makes you want to keep coming back. I don't want it to get crowded with a huge influx of people, so I'd prefer not to let too many people know about it. Recommended for those who want to relax.

A day-trip natural hot spring. The shoe lockers and lockers in the changing rooms are coin-free, which is a nice touch. The bathtubs (though not all of them) contain carbonated spring water, which is nice, but there's a slight chlorine smell (although safety is guaranteed). Several showers are broken, and I wonder why they haven't been fixed? The rest area and dining area seem quite spacious (I didn't eat at the restaurant, so I won't comment here). Overall, the facilities feel a bit dated, but I recommend it if you want to enjoy the natural hot springs at your own pace.
