Its muddy onsen feasts my skin.Every visitors need to clean up themselves, same as the usual practice in the hot spring and put all the volcanic mud on the skin where ever they like. The mud locates besides the pool of hot spring. The whole body can enjoy the skin facial-liked treatment. Let the mud stay on your body for 10 minutes. After this refreshing treatment, just clean up yourself and enjoy the hot spring and cold coffee milk. There are 3-4 hot springs inside the bath. It opens for daily visitor too. Please be aware of its opening hours is 11:00. Remember to bring your own towels and lotion, otherwise, you can buy them at the reception. The inner decoration is a bit old. If you arrive earlier, recommend you to visit the lakes such as 大浪池, etc created by the nearby volcano.

Mud hot spring. There is a bath inside and outside. The outdoor bath is a mud bath. You can paint the mud that is on the outside. Even if you make a mistake, please do not paint the body by picking up the mud at the bottom of the hot spring. I was painting it hard.lol It is a rare hot spring even in Japan. I would recommend this experience. Towel will turn black, so be careful.haha

You have hundreds of options in the area and this is the worst. The water is not naturally hot, as staff admitted in casual conversation. They use heaters. If you have a property around, they have a responsibility to maintain your onset water supply but fail miserably. Please don't fall for this tourist trap.

there was no hot water? the other guys who were in there before me said the same thing. the onsen water was also lukewarm, and the room itself was pretty cold. my wife said that the women's side had hot water though...

Very nice environment and friendly reception. The very minor issue is the lack of soap and shampoo in room toilet. But you can bath at the lavatory inside the private onsen. Overall a very nice and happy stay
