Satsuki Hot Spring

A local free-flowing hot spring. Tickets are purchased with cash from a ticket machine. Adults are 650 yen, towels are 250 yen. Annual tickets are sold for just over 50,000 yen, which is a bit coveted. Parking is easy, but it tends to fill up. A small, local hot spring mostly frequented by locals. There are about 10 washing stations. As others have pointed out, there's one indoor bath and one outdoor bath. The indoor bath has a cold bath, but no sauna. Why? The water is a mildly alkaline, high-temperature hot spring. The source temperature is apparently 49°C. It's almost colorless and transparent, with a slight sulfur smell, but it's practically odorless. It's a free-flowing hot spring, literally gushing with water. It's luxurious. There's no dining room, and although there is a large tatami room on the second floor, it's rather bleak. The background music is old-fashioned J-POP, which is kind of sad. I feel like it could have been better. Well, it's fine. It's not flashy at all and not very modern, but I think it will continue to be a local social gathering spot for many years to come. A beautiful onsen with clean facilities and a very nice staff. They are not tattoo friendly (though they are quite nice about it!) so if you can't hide your body art you should find a different bath.

Traditional onzen at Suzuka. The place was clean, and the workers friendly with foreigners. Also the price is very affordable, recommended if you want to take a bath and relax.
