Satsunai Garden Hot Spring

This information is from a visit to Satsunai Garden Spa on February 27, 2025. It's a moor spring hot spring with a wide variety of relaxing facilities. Open from 10:00 AM to midnight, with the last reception at 11:30 PM. Adult admission is 750 yen on weekdays and 800 yen on holidays. Shoe lockers and changing lockers are free. Hand your shoe locker key to the reception desk and receive a locker key in exchange. Amenities include body soap, rinse-in shampoo, face soap, and a hair dryer. The baths alternate weekly between Japanese and Western styles for men and women. This time, I used the Western-style one. Indoors, there's a main bath, a jet and vibrating bath, an electric bath, a waterfall bath for two, a dry sauna (with TV), a cold bath, and a relaxation area with chairs. Outdoors, there's an open-air bath, one self-loyly barrel sauna, two tent saunas, two single-person baths (maybe closed), and a dedicated outdoor bathing area with plenty of reclining chairs. The outdoor sauna wasn't used by many people, likely due to the cold winter weather. While the tent-style sauna felt a little cold, the barrel-style sauna was reasonably warm. The water is a simple, hypotonic, weakly alkaline, high-temperature hot spring, a type of moor spring. The water in the main bath was a little weak, while the open-air bath seemed thicker. The water was pale yellow, transparent, tasteless, and had a slight hydrogen sulfide odor, not particularly recognizable as a moor spring. While bicarbonate is the main component, the water wasn't too thick. The metasilicate value was 68.1 mg, which is a little high. The facility has two rest areas on the first floor and three shared and separate nap rooms on the second floor, as well as a dining area. Please note that the nap room and dining area on the second floor are in separate buildings and are not connected. Perhaps because it was a weekday, the facility was generally empty, allowing me to have the nap room all to myself and relax.

100% natural moor hot spring water and a variety of saunas. Bath towels and face towels are included in the bath fee, making it a convenient experience. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and face soap are provided. Hair dryers available: Dyson, SALONIA, and Kinume. One personal dryer is provided. Aftershave and hair care products are provided. Shoe lockers are ¥100 (returnable). Leave the shoe locker key and borrow a towel set and a locker key for the changing room. Return the towel set when you leave to receive the shoe locker key. The washing area is spacious, and the shampoo and conditioner have an orange scent. The pleasant aroma of the wind. The indoor bath features an electric bath, a waterfall bath, a jet bath, and a dry sauna (the Western-style dry sauna has been renovated, and the Japanese-style dry sauna is scheduled for renovation). The open-air bath features a wooden tub bath, a barrel sauna, a tent sauna, and plenty of chairs for relaxation. The spacious rest area offers free roasted green tea, burdock tea, rooibos tea, green tea, and hot water. There are also separate and shared nap rooms for men and women. Special offers are available on certain days and days of the week. Multi-ride tickets and member discounts are available. The food menu is extensive. Ducks live year-round in the river in front of the entrance, and food is also available for purchase. 2025/12/w4

I go there when I'm feeling stressed or tired. It's my favorite place. Towels and bath towels are provided for free, so you can go empty-handed. I recommend going whenever you feel like it. The restaurant is introducing new menu items to keep you from getting bored. I always forget to take photos before eating, so I haven't been able to upload them, but I took some this time, so I'll post them here. I've added a photo of the bath ticket and a choice of noodles for 1,180 yen. The air conditioner in the manga corner has been replaced, so it can be cold in some areas. There are blankets, but it might be a good idea to bring something to wear over your clothes. I've added a photo of the January 2026 bath ticket and the meal pack's mackerel miso set meal.

My family and I recently visited Satsunai Garden Hot Spring in Hokkaido, and we had a wonderfully relaxing experience. The hot spring features both indoor and outdoor baths, letting us enjoy the warm, mineral-rich waters while taking in the natural surroundings. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy for all of us to unwind, and the clean, family-friendly facilities ensured everyone was comfortable. After our soak, we strolled through the surrounding garden areas, enjoying the serene scenery. It was a perfect place for our family to relax, connect with nature, and spend quality time together.

This was my first visit. The bath temperature was generally lukewarm, around 40℃. I prefer hotter water, so I was happy that there were both lukewarm and hot baths. There were many saunas, so it seemed like they put a lot of effort into the sauna experience. There were plenty of chairs in the bathroom, which was nice for taking a break. I didn't use the open-air bath or the individual bath because there were leaves and insects in the tub. The staff at the reception were very friendly.
