It was really great! I usually go to the beach with my family during summer vacation, but this time the inn we usually stay at closed down, so we stayed here instead! The lobby was so beautiful, it was great! Unfortunately, a typhoon came when we were closed, so we couldn't go to the beach, but the inn was beautiful and we had a great time! The room was so clean!!! ✨ However...you might want to be a little careful of bugs... There was a manga room! There was a spider on the shelf in the manga room... We had so much fun...! The food was beautifully presented, too! There was an open-air bath, so it was such a luxurious time. I'd love to come again if I can in 2026!
I loved Shirako Onsen (known as the Golden Hot Springs due to its iodine content) so much that I stayed there for the first time! The inn is located near the coast, and the rooftop observation bath offers a spectacular view! Check out the website for photos of the hot springs! My room faced east, so the morning sun streamed in and I was energized ☀ (although it was a bit cloudy in the morning, lol). The courtyard leading to the open-air bath on the first floor was also beautifully designed, and it felt just like a luxury inn!
It’s a wonderful onsen and staff did everything to keep it safe during COVID time. Family onsen is probably the best one as it’s both spacious and very well designed, with washing area being somewhat inside and onsen more open, next to a small pond. Onsen on the roof is as good, especially at night time when you can see stars. The food is delicious, mostly comes from the sea.
I visited for a day trip to the hot springs on a weekday holiday during a long weekend. The open-air bath on the 5th floor was even more comfortable than I expected. The view was great. It was very clean. It was a shame the sauna was closed, though. The water quality was also unique, with a distinctive iodine smell, typical of Shirako Onsen, and left a lasting impression.
This time, we visited not for an overnight stay, but for a banquet. We were impressed by the flexible and considerate staff. Hospitality and other service industries are jobs that are done by people, so mistakes can happen sometimes. However, because the staff are such kind people, I'm sure you'll create wonderful memories, so if you're interested, please give it a try.
