Shimizu Onsen

Founded in 1954, Shimizu Onsen has been a place of relaxation and relaxation loved by local residents for over 80 years. It's a modern, retro public bathhouse with a traditional feel. You can reach it by climbing the stairs to the second floor and entering the reception area. The bathhouse offers a jet bath, a waterfall bath, an electric bath, a sauna, and a cold bath. The sauna requires a fee and requires a designated towel. The sauna room 🧖 can accommodate approximately five people, is heated to 92°C, and comes with a TV. The cold bath is about 18°C. There are two chairs just outside the cold bath, allowing for a truly relaxing experience. There's also a rest area where you can purchase drinks, ice cream, and more. I bought Kanazawa Yuwaku Cider Yuzu Otome and Kyushu specialty Shirokuma. Aichi Sento Collection Cards are also available. There's a parking lot and a coin laundry on the first floor. There are three parking lots. Please note that shampoo and body soap are not provided.

It's a cultural heritage that should be preserved forever. Currently (April 2017), the only public baths open in Seto City are this one and Nihon Kosen, which is close to Setogura. They are making various management efforts, such as holding public bath comedy shows in the waiting room. The facilities are not new, but are well-maintained and clean. However, this is not a super public bath, but a public bath that is subject to the old Price Control Act. So, of course, they don't provide shampoo or conditioner. The water temperature is low for a public bath, and even my 4-year-old grandson was able to use it. The parking lot is divided into multiple areas, although the individual spaces are small, and can accommodate a considerable number of cars. You probably won't have any trouble finding a parking spot.

This is the only old-fashioned pure hot spring in Seto City, which is now few and far between. You can enjoy a large public bath, an electric bath, a cold bath, a sauna, and more. Please come from outside the city! It opens at 16:00, so it's recommended to come before or after dinner! Please come with your family or by yourself, regardless of age or gender. You'll surely be soothed by the nostalgic atmosphere of the Showa era public bathhouse.

The sauna costs an additional 100 yen. The regulars are generally well behaved, and the parking lot is spacious, so you can go there without worry. The bath chairs and toilets in the changing rooms seem to have been replaced, and I got the impression that there were many clean items! It's great that there's a waterfall bath! The temperature was just right for me, so I was able to enjoy it for a long time!

It's been a while since I last visited, and it was just like the old-fashioned public bathhouse it was. ☺️ There was parking, and it was only ¥530. It's not a spacious hot spring like a super public bath, but it's a convenient place to wash off a little sweat while traveling. I hope it stays like this forever. 💗
