Sukagawa City onsen

(April 14, 2025) Revisited this hot spring for a morning bath after admiring the cherry blossom trees along Shakadogawa Fureai Road. I've visited so many times, at various times, that it's hard to count them all on one hand. It's a popular facility, and the washing areas are almost always full, but the bathrooms are large, so it never feels crowded. --- I stopped by after the Taimatsu Akashi Festival. This is my favorite hot spring in Sukagawa, and I'm a repeat visitor. Located in the city center, it's easily accessible from Route 4, has great water quality, and is reasonably priced. ←Seniors (over 60 in Sukagawa City) can enjoy it even cheaper (lol). The water is a simple alkaline spring heated to the perfect temperature, leaving your skin feeling smooth and silky, and leaving it feeling moisturized even after bathing. Because it's a city facility, it's filtered and chlorinated, but I don't detect any chlorine smell, so I think it's just the bare minimum. There is only one large bathtub, with a jetted bath next to the window. There are eight shower-mixer faucets. Amenities included. Price: ¥310 (¥260 for those 60 and older). Many baths available. Although I live outside the city, this is a wonderful hot spring that I absolutely adore. To be honest, the facility itself has been open for over 40 years, so it's not the cleanest, and is quite dilapidated. However, the quality of the hot spring water is so excellent that I don't even notice that. I often use this hot spring when I have muscle pain. It's extremely effective against muscle pain. The effects don't appear the next day, but rather, I feel the pain subside while I'm resting after getting out of the bath. It's incredibly immediate. This is the hot spring I rely on when I have muscle pain, back pain, joint pain, or any other physical discomfort. Today, as I visited as usual, I received some sad news. The current designated manager's term ends this fiscal year, and they are considering changing the management to start on April 1st of next year. Is there a possibility that it may disappear altogether? I sincerely hope that this wonderful hot spring will be preserved.

Visited in June 2025 This hot spring is operated by Sukagawa City. At 310 yen for adults, it's one of the cheapest hot springs around. And for those over 60, it's only 260 yen. There are various reviews, but I think it's a good value for the price. I'm very satisfied with the price. The parking lot is large, and since it's not a private facility, it's not flashy and is an old, but large building. There is also a rest area, but if you want to use it, it costs 520 yen for a day pass. The water has a slimy texture and is very warming. It seems to be good for the skin, so I'm very satisfied, especially for the price. I hadn't heard much about this place before, so it was a surprise. Maybe it's mostly locals. I think it's a great hot spring. After your bath, those with a single-use ticket can rest for about an hour on the sofas in front of the front desk. Thank you for your help. I'd definitely like to come again.

Even in Fukushima, a paradise of hot springs, this is a hidden gem. The water is moderately warm, colorless and transparent, with a smooth, almost viscous texture. This 310-yen public bath might just be the best I've ever experienced. I was once again amazed by the quality of Fukushima's hot springs. Even if you make it to Ayuri Onsen, people from outside the prefecture will almost certainly never know about this place. It's that off the beaten path, yet the water is superb. It's like natural lotion; even the shower taps are filled with spring water. The way it clings to your skin is simply irresistible. I honestly want to soak in it every day. Intuitively, it's the kind of water that dramatically improves your physical condition. A highly satisfying, top-notch public bath. There are many famous places, but the best are the ones only locals know about. Ayuri Onsen impressed me, but this might be even better.

It was the best hot spring in town, with free-flowing water from the source, and it only cost 310 yen to enter. There was no open-air bath or sauna, but the water was very good. The water was slightly green, but odorless, and I was surprised at how smooth it was. What's more, the shampoo and body soap provided lathered so well that I thought they might be the best in Japan. There was no hair dryer, but it seems you can bring your own. The facilities were a little old, but no problems at all. The local residents are very lucky. The rest area seems to close at 4:00. I wish I'd come earlier and rested before going in again. I rested on the sofa next to the reception before going in again. There was also cold water available.
