This is a small scenic onsen located about 16 minutes from Ainokura Village by car. There is a small sauna room, a hot indoor bath and an outside bath (rotenburo) that overlooks the local river. Lockers and baskets are available in the gender-segregated sections for your use. There is a small counter where you can buy food that is in the lobby area outside of the baths. I purchased a vanilla soft ice cream and enjoyed it while sitting in the tatami resting area. Relaxing here was a marvelous end to our adventure in this very rural area of Japan.
One of the best onsen I had experienced. 30mins far from shirakawago which a heritage of the world. Can not found a word to describe how beautiful it is at outside onsen. Especially it is a occasionally rainy day. Frog surround lake and mountain, and we are sounded by the hot onsen and this nature beauty, such like walk in a painting suddenly. At this time just forget all the thing to feeling how much lucky we are living now.
This was my first onsen experience in Japan and it was absolutely amazing! It is tattoo friendly with a mineral bath overlooking the lake and mountains. No need to book ahead and it was only 700 yen to enter, 300 yen for a small towel, 600 yen for a big towel and for you to keep. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!
Really high quality and reasonably priced onsen. Easy for foreigners to use (though needed Google translate for the ticket vending machine at the entrance). Beautiful views and a large relaxation space.
Came here during autumn season, we enjoyed dipping in hot spring water while taking the great views of a blue lake surrounded by colorful mountains. It was a wonderful experience.

Make a day of it — a quick-dry towel, dry bag, and post-soak layers take almost no pack space.
