Takeo Onsen Romontei

I recommend the open-air baths during sunny afternoon before sunset if you visit here. Also there are small sauna room, and air bubble bath tub. It is a little high-temperature hot water indoor than outside baths. The first floor is women's bath, and the second is men's. There are coin-operated lockers in each the dressing room. Please prepare for 100yen coin use locker in advance. This coin will be returned to you after open with key. There are free body soap and shampoo indoor. There is an automatic vending machine for towels if you don't have. Enjoy Takeo Hot Spring

Takeo Onsen Ramontei is an onsen complex offering six different bath experience, be i segregated or private bath. The segregated baths are Saginoyu with outdoor bath and sauna, Houraiyu and Motoyou, The private charter baths are Tsukasakitei, Karouyu, and Tonosamayu. Access to the onsen complex is through the Ramontei Tower Gate. This gate together with the Shinkan Building are National Important Cultural Property of Japan. We particularly like the Saginoyu Baths with its strong waterjets in the indoor pools and the and its tranquil outdoor baths.

This is a hidden gem of an accommodation. The building is a little old, but it has a Western-style toilet and is spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff are also very kind and polite. It costs 10,000 yen for two people and you can soak in three hot springs for free. Although it is a bed-only accommodation, there are many good restaurants in Takeo Onsen within a five-minute walk, so you can still enjoy yourself. I really wish breakfast was included. This will definitely be my regular accommodation.

Takeo City in Saga Prefecture, Japan, is one of Kyushu's most famous and historically significant hot spring resorts, boasting an atmosphere of "elegant old-fashioned charm + comfortable relaxation" 😊 Established over 1300 years ago, with records dating back to the Nara and Heian periods, it is one of Japan's oldest hot springs. The spring water quality is excellent, and the temperature is perfect for a comfortable soak, attracting many families. There are remnants of its former construction.

If you're traveling solo, I would definitely recommend this accommodation. The room rate has remained the same for a reasonable 5,500 yen for a room only stay. And you can enjoy unlimited bathing at three hot springs, including our own. However, I do wish the toilets were Japanese-style and the bathing hours were later extended.
