The bathing fee was a reasonable 400 yen, yet the facility was clean and the atmosphere was relaxing. The hot springs include a cozy sauna for 4-5 people and a cold bath the size of a household bathtub. Because the sauna has a limit on the number of people allowed in, it was a relaxing experience. The bath area is simple, with only a washing area and a bathtub, and I was a little concerned that people would jump into the cold bath after the sauna without washing off. There is a restaurant on-site where you can enjoy meals. They also seem to accept group banquets, giving the impression that this is a hot spring popular with locals. A day trip to the bath costs 400 yen and includes shampoo and other toiletries. Hair dryers are 10 yen per minute. It's good value for money. The hot springs have many baths at 41-43°C. The water is colorless, transparent, and odorless. There are two cold baths, including one at 32°C. Up to this point, everything is fine, but it gives the impression of being somewhat unclean. The smell after washing can be bothersome. The trash cans in the bath area are overflowing... and the sauna has almost no mats, so it's wet and slimy. There are also few washing areas, so you'll have to wait when it gets crowded. The restaurant is delicious. They can also accommodate requests for appetizers and other dishes.

During a break in the snowmelt, I headed to Yuppura, a little ways from Tashiro. Even on a weekday afternoon, there were a lot of cars and bathers. Since it was my first time, I had to wander around a bit to get to the bathhouse. As expected, with that many people, the washing area, bathing area, and sauna were all packed, and I had to wait in line—an experience I hadn't had in a long time. Aside from the small size and limited number of baths, the sauna and spring water quality were impeccable, and I was able to relax.

My daughter requested to sleep in a bunk bed, so after searching around, we found this family room and stayed there. The room had three sets of bunk beds and could accommodate six people. The room was clean, and the food portions were just right. Best of all, the hot springs were fantastic! There was a jacuzzi, sauna, cold bath, and open-air bath, and the water temperatures varied, so we could enjoy a bath at the perfect temperature for us.

It was my first time there, but there were a lot of rude locals. There were people reserving spots at the washing area despite signs warning people not to, people who jumped into the cold bath without washing off their sweat after the sauna, and people who spat everywhere. I will never go there again.
