I went there around 5pm on a Saturday. There weren't many people there at the time, so it was comfortable. The hot spring water was overflowing from the bath tub, and the washing area was warm as well. I'm not sure about the quality of the water, but my skin felt smooth as soon as I got in. The atmosphere in the bath was great. It was great because I could relax and take my time in the bath. I like to bathe in the open-air bath while enjoying the fresh air, but there was a cold water bath in the corner, so I was able to refresh myself while I was in. The atmosphere was also great, and I'd definitely like to visit again.
This is a hot spring with a natural spring. The hot water flowing freely from the bathtub is extremely luxurious, and it's great to be able to always enjoy fresh hot spring water. The showers and cold baths use hot spring water, and you can feel your skin becoming smoother while you're in them. There are many washing areas, but there is just one simple bath. There is no large public bath. Hair dryers cost 20 yen for 3 minutes. 10 yen coins are required. The power outlets are covered, so please note that you cannot use your own hair dryer. 700 yen per adult, with a JAF discount available.
It's been five years since I last visited. The biggest feature of this hot spring is that everything, from the showers to the cold baths, uses hot spring water, and the combined water quality leaves your whole body feeling smooth and silky smooth♪ The fact that you have to pay for the hair dryer is a bit of a downside, but I really admire their commitment to the hot spring rather than cost. The cave-like atmosphere with hot water gushing out from the rocks above creates a spectacular and scenic setting, so I highly recommend it.
First of all, it's amazing. Day trip hot spring Thursday around 9:30 PM There are always people there, but it's not too crowded, which is just right. The hot spring quality is excellent: thick, flowing directly from the source, and even the hot spring water from the shower is like hot spring water! The atmosphere is quiet. Towels are available for rental. Shampoo is provided. Hair dryers are provided (the kind that use 10-yen coins). I'll be back soon.
Very nice onsen. A little on the expensive side at 630yen but probably the best water you'll find in Yamagata city. The water is very hot so better for adults and not kids. As it is a little expensive and too hot for kids, it is not very crowded even on weekends. The water is said to be very therapeutic and good for your skin. Nice way to warm up during the winter months. Closed the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
