Tōjinbō
Dramatic cliffs overlooking the sea of Japan are the highlight of this ancient, rugged destination.
The day I visited, it was very windy and the waves were fantastic. Sneakers are a must if you plan to go up to the top of the cliff. The parking fee was 1000 yen, which felt quite expensive. It's a famous place for many reasons, so I'm glad I went.

I came here for the first time in 35 years. Back then, there were lots of signs saying things like "Don't rush!" and "Lifeline ***-***-****", but now it's a completely cheerful tourist spot.
