December 30, 2025 - January 1, 2026: Gifu, Nagano, and Yamanashi Prefecture Hot Spring Tour ♨️ Final Day 😃 We stopped off on the way home from this hot spring, where the water flows directly from the source. The name is unique, too. 😃 First of all, it's hard to find. 💧 Though it's in the city, the entrance is unclear. 💧 Rather than following a navigation system, it's probably best to just go with your instincts and find the right place (lol). We somehow managed to arrive, checked in, and headed straight to the bathroom. ☺️ The indoor bath... wow! ✨ Transparent brown water was flowing freely, overflowing from all sides of the bathtub. ✨ After warming up, we headed to the open-air bath. ✨ It wasn't flowing all the way around, but it was overflowing from certain areas. ☺️ The water temperature was a little lower than the indoor bath (maybe because it was mid-winter?), so we enjoyed a long, relaxing soak. ✨ Free-flowing hot springs are rare in the Kanto region, so why not try visiting this hot spring? ☺️

Bathed on February 14, 2026 I visited Tortoise Onsen, located in the city center. I read in other reviews that it was difficult to find the hot spring using Google Navigation, so I drove carefully, but like everyone else, I made a mistake at the end. My mistake led me to an overpass, so it took quite a long drive to get back. The final turn wasn't an obvious one, but rather a road that didn't look like a road (it looked like a parking lot). It can be difficult for first-time visitors. The facility feels like a local public bath, and the staff are very friendly. The baths are not particularly large, with two indoor and one outdoor bath. The water is apparently called Kin no Yu (Golden Bath), but it's more amber than gold. The water is gentle on the skin, but the endorsement comments from university professors posted everywhere are a bit annoying. Also, since it's an urban hot spring, the artificial sounds are quite audible. However, 550 yen is excellent in these times, so I'll give it three stars.

The quality of the spring water at Tortoise Onsen in Yamanashi is simply amazing. The moment you step into the water, it feels so soft against your skin, as if gently enveloping your body. The warmth lingers for a while after you exit the bath, and you can really feel your skin becoming moisturized and smooth. Even in the dry season, it feels like your skin is moisturized, and it truly gives the impression of being a "beautiful skin bath." The facility is clean, and the calming atmosphere makes it a relaxing place to spend time. It seems to be a hot spring beloved by locals, and although it's not flashy, its charm lies in the fact that you can enjoy the hot spring at a leisurely pace and in peace. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to thoroughly soothe their daily fatigue. It's a hot spring I'd definitely like to visit again next time I'm in Yamanashi. I would especially recommend it to those who prioritize spring quality; it's a very satisfying hot spring.

The hot spring water was wonderful. The spring water flows luxuriously and endlessly, and the brownish water has a lovely fragrance. For 550 yen there is an open-air bath with three different temperatures of water. It's so luxurious! Shampoo is provided and hair dryers can be used for free. There is also a rest area. When I went by car, I couldn't find the way in, and even Google Maps gave me some strange directions, so I ended up driving all the way around. It may have been because it was night that I couldn't find the way, but I don't think you can enter from Route 358. Please refer to the arrow in the image to get there!

This is an incredibly great hot spring!!! I used it while sightseeing!!!!!! As of January 2026, the bathing fee is only 550 yen, which is incredibly cheap!!!!!!!!! And there's even an open-air bath!!! What's going on!!!!!! The open-air bath is lukewarm and just right. If that's not enough, the indoor bath is hot, so you can use that too!!!!!!!!! Amenities include rinse-in shampoo and body soap, and one hair dryer. The parking lot is a little hard to find, but there is enough parking space for a hot spring the size of which is great. This place is great...really...everyone should go...✌️
