Tsutsumigawa Hot Spring

This day-trip hot spring facility is located in the mountains at an altitude of about 800m and seems to be run by a local government. The atmosphere is very nice. The water is alkaline simple spring water that is circulated and disinfected. There is also a lukewarm open-air bath and sauna. The water quality is not very distinctive for Yamanashi Prefecture, but even though it is circulated and disinfected, the alkalinity is quite high, so it might be recommended to stop by on the way back from a nearby hike. It is located on a fairly high slope from the valley bottom, so access from the parking lot is by climbing steep stairs that are far from barrier-free, but it is far from the water and insect control is quite good, so there are not many insects in the open-air bath. However, there is no air conditioning except in the changing rooms, so even though the water is lukewarm, it may be a bit difficult to use on a midsummer day.
This is a municipal hot spring located deep in the mountains of Yamanashi. Although it's deep in the mountains, the roads are well-maintained, so even I, a woman, was able to manage. The hot springs, rest area, and food all meet our family's requirements! The water quality was slightly slippery. There are two baths, an indoor and an outdoor one. While I was in the outdoor bath, a nightingale was singing, which was very relaxing. Please refer to the photos of the menu at the adjacent restaurant. We were the only ones in the rest area. There were three massage chairs, so I massaged myself and took a nap. This hot spring is the best! I would like to visit again if I have the chance. However, the price recently increased from 510 yen to 700 yen! There was a 100 yen discount coupon on the Yamanashi City Tourism Association website, so please look for it. 👍 I gave it 4 stars because of the price increase.
¥700 for one adult from outside the city The facilities are old-fashioned. 😅 No coins are required for valuables or shoe lockers, and they're free to use. ✨ The open-air bath is 100% natural hot spring water. I don't know about the indoor bath. The open-air bath is lukewarm. You can soak for a long time. It's colorless and transparent, and at first I thought it was a hot spring, but it has a unique smell that lingers even after you get out. It's not an unpleasant smell at all. ✨ You need a car to get there. I love it. ❤️ I highly recommend this hot spring. 🎵
This is truly a hidden hot spring. Almost all of the visitors are elderly locals, so you can really relax and unwind. Once a few more days have passed, I'm sure you'll be able to enjoy the open-air bath while watching the autumn leaves. The lounge is also spacious and you can relax there. The milk after your bath was rich and delicious. If you show your JAF membership card, you can enjoy a bath for 600 yen, a 100 yen discount.
The men's bath has an indoor bath, sauna, and open-air bath. Despite being located in a mountainous area, it's reasonably large, so you can relax any time. The water is colorless and odorless. JAF discounts are available. They sell twisted sweets in front of the reception desk, which are a bit like karinto donuts. I had them with a Family Mart coffee as a post-drive snack. Delicious.
