Unohama Hot Spring

It has a swimming pool and a hot spring facility attached. It's cheap! I think even if you're not from Joetsu City, you can get in for just over 500 yen. The hot spring water has a salty feel, which makes you feel like you're near the sea. However, it stings if you have any cuts or wounds. A short walk from the building is Unohama beach, and the sunset is exceptional...!

I used the bath, but there was a pool with a slide in the building, so there were a lot of children and it was a bit noisy... The bath was a good size, and the water quality and temperature were good and comfortable. The shower had a wide spread, so I was often splashed with other people's water.

I visited on a weekday evening. I had the pork and ginger set meal at the restaurant. It was more delicious than I expected. The sun set while I was eating, so I missed the sunset, but I did see some squid fishing boats. There was also an open-air bath, which was very relaxing.

A hot spring frequented by locals. The Sea of Japan is right in front of you. The building is dilapidated and feels like a slightly dirty community center, in a bad way. Some people were dipping their faces in the hot water, so it's definitely a hot spring for locals.

There is also a pool and a panoramic view of the ocean. It was night so I couldn't see anything, but the quality of the water was good. I'd like to come again. The parking lot is free and spacious.
