Got really good price for this onsen as I'm staying in Murasaki Guesthouse (only 200 yens for women) and I would say it's a nice little sento, staff speaks English and is really nice, it was a bit crowded i the middle of afternoon unfortunately and the baths are small. The main one was too hot for me but there is a jacuzzi with really nice temperature where you can stay longer. If you don't have a towel and soaps you can get a bathing kit for 200 yens

I have to thank the owner of this place so much for allowing me to have a real onsen experience in Takayama! I have a tattoo on my back and unfortunately this in Japan is still considered for criminals but the owner of Utopia allows people with tattoo as long as they know how to behave. I was so happy of feeling accepted and included and the experience was so good i will never forget it. Thank you very much and good luck with your activity!

Loved my first ever public bath experience! The lady manning the counter was friendly and the bath area was not as intimaditing as I had initially thought. The bath area had 3 pools of varying hotness levels and which I tried the warm and middle levels only and which was exactly what the end of the day called for. Perfect to unwind once you got used to the warmth levels. Highly recommended when you're in Takayama! ♥️

I came here because I had heard they are OK with tattoos. I had been to a few sento but it was nice not to feel nervous knowing their policy was more welcoming. It’s a nice sento, very relaxed, full of neighborhood women chatting and scrubbing away. It was perfect to take the chill off my body after a long day in the cold. Look for the sign in hiragana with a cute cat on it.

My Wife and I wen't to the sento today. It was our first ever sento visit in Japan. Its a old sento, with the old charm, but clean and well maintained! We could rent a face towel, towel and soap. We had a great time in the Sento! Everyone was friendly, and the atmosphere was just like in the mangas :) For sure will visit again! Thank you!
