I was searching for a hot spring on a map and happened to find this one. Initially, I was planning to go to Jinzu Onsen, which is nearby Yamanoyu, but I heard that it adds water and that Yamanoyu is the source of 100% natural hot spring water... Despite the mixed reviews, I was a little worried, but seeing is believing! So, in mid-December, I mustered up the courage to go! I arrived around 4:30pm. 🚗 First of all, as everyone says, the entrance is really like, do you really have to go down here?! I briefly wondered if I'd be able to find my way back, but no problem! It's just a short slope down, and it's there! 🙆♀️ When I actually saw the building, I was a little intimidated, even though I'd come prepared. 😂 It had quite a vibe. But then, when I went inside! I heard the doorbell ring, walked in, and climbed the stairs on the left, where the owner was waiting, and paid the 900 yen entrance fee! Some reviews said the attendant's attitude was rude, but I felt like the owner is elderly and a little hard of hearing, so maybe he just couldn't hear me. 🤔 At first, I was worried because he didn't respond when I spoke normally, but I thought maybe he had trouble hearing me, so I spoke louder and more clearly, and he was very accommodating. ♫ There are no lockers with locks in the changing room, so it's a good idea to leave your smartphone, cell phone, car keys, and other valuables in the coin lockers just before the men's and women's baths. 👍 There are 100-yen coin lockers, but you can lock them without putting the 100-yen coin in (and it didn't fit, lol). 🔑 The changing room was incredibly clean! One thing to note is that there's no air conditioning in the changing room! Be extremely careful if you go in the winter. 💦 I also went on a cold day, so before going to the changing room, I slowly stood up from the bathtub, opened the door, and cooled down before slowly exiting. (The spring water is of good quality, so you won't get cold just from the bath, so don't worry, lol.) After that, I was able to get out of the bath safely.👍 The changing room was spotless, with no dust or hair on it, and I even wondered where I could have seen the filthiness described in the reviews. There were probably some dusty, forgotten bath products from previous guests piled up at the edge of the locker, so I thought that might have been what bothered some of the guests. But then, the bath area...?! It was much cleaner than I expected!! Not only the bathtub, but the tiles also showed signs of having been properly scrubbed with a brush, and there was no sign of scale or moss growing on them! I didn't even find a single hair in the bathtub, lol. If you use shampoo and conditioner, please bring your own.🧴 The body wash had a nostalgic Showa-era retro scent, which was very charming.👍 And the water...?! The moment I got in, I knew the spring water quality was amazing! I was immediately struck by this. Even though I went in winter, I didn't feel any chill after bathing! And my skin instantly became smooth! ✨ The thick, silky water allowed me to relax and enjoy the indescribable atmosphere. The view of the green mountains from the bathtub was also very pleasant. 🍃 The water temperature was neither too hot nor too cold, and it warmed me up nicely. 😆 I was a little hesitant to go, but I'm so glad I did! As long as you're not a complete germaphobe, I think you'll have no trouble enjoying it. By the way, just before entering the men's and women's baths, there were stuffed foxes on display! They were placed there as if they were natural, but it's rare to see stuffed animals these days, so I was happy to have seen something so rare. 🤩 After my bath, I bought a drink from the vending machine and headed home feeling refreshed. ♫ Summary! ・Reading reviews beforehand and preparing myself mentally allowed me to enjoy the experience with ease. 👌 ・Speaking loudly and clearly makes it easier for the owner to hear you. 🙆♀️ ・If you're going in the cold winter, be careful of heat shock, as there's no air conditioning in the changing rooms. 👀 ・Shampoo and conditioner aren't provided, so either don't wash your hair or bring your own! (Personally, I think women visiting in the winter just want to enjoy the hot water, so washing your body and soaking in the water is enough. Washing your hair would have made the changing room feel even colder, lol.) ・The facilities are a little old, but it was much cleaner than I expected. ・Seeing is believing! If you're not a total nerd, why not give it a try?! This is a hot spring that's perfect for those who love it. Personally, I'd definitely go back! I'll definitely go again! ✨
After reading everyone's reviews and keeping in mind the ambiance issues like age and hygiene, I still mustered up the courage to go, hoping for the best quality springs. In the end, I'm so glad I went! ️ The water was my favorite, Bijin-yu, with a thick, smooth texture! ️ I went prepared, but it was even cleaner than I expected, so I was fine! The water had some floating deposits, and even the popular super sento in the area usually have all sorts of floating things, so in terms of water hygiene, it was no different. When I think about how hard the old man is working to protect this hot spring, I can't really ask him to clean it more. To be honest, it didn't bother me that much. I just think it can't be helped since it's old. The spring water, which is the origin of Inunaki Onsen, is free-flowing, with no added water, and it was great! ️ If you like slimy hot springs, I thought it might even surpass the mediocre Ryuujin Onsen. It might not be for the fussy eaters, but I recommend it for hot spring enthusiasts who seek quality springs! ️ The bath is bright, and the mountain view from the window is great. Apparently, the old man who runs this hot spring by himself dug this spring. As long as the owner is alive, he has customers who love this hot spring, so he seems to be taking good care of it. When I went, a lively old man helped me, so I wonder where the old man is now? After reading an article about the history of this hot spring, I'm glad I went. The water quality is excellent, and even though I'm looking for a stylish place, I really liked it. This is the origin of the Inunaki hot spring area, and although it looks quite old, I hope it will continue to exist.
I enjoyed the hot springs at Yamanoyu ♨️ The map shows that Yumoto Onsenso is on the same property, but it looks like it's closed. The building is old, but the water is excellent! 😆 It's so smooth! There's a slight smell, but it's not a problem. 😄 There are four faucets🚰, but only two showers, so you have to take turns. The water is so good that it's perfect for washing off sweat, washing your private parts and the soles of your feet, and then just soaking in it. I came here by motorcycle in the freezing cold, but I was still warm and cozy on the way home (30-40 minutes). 👍 The water surface was clean, and even when held up to the light, there was no debris or oil floating on it. It didn't feel dirty like other reviews have suggested. (Maybe it was just the mat after the bath.) Also, some reviews said it smelled like sewer water, but the hot spring analysis states that it "has a slight hydrogen sulfide odor," so I don't think it's just because the water wasn't properly cleaned. I went there for lunch and it was completely booked! 😆 I'll definitely go again! 👍
This hot spring is located just past the pass leading from Wakayama to Osaka. It's located at the bottom of a steep hill on a narrow side road. It's difficult to access from the Wakayama side because of the sharp turn, so the toilet a little north might be easier to turn around in. If you try to make a U-turn at the parking lot right next to it, you'll find that it's a paid parking lot and they'll offer to leave you there for 300 yen. It's a steep hill, but if you don't mind, you can even get there in a HiAce. Once you arrive, it looks abandoned, but there's a sign saying "Open." The toilets are on the right as you enter. The road splits into two on the left, with the payment area at the top. The hot spring is on the right. The water seems to be alkaline, and it's very slimy. As other reviews have said, there's no sign of cleaning, and it's covered in green moss. I heard that an athlete comes every week to use the hot springs for therapeutic purposes. Whether 900 yen is a good price or a bad price is up to you.
I visited this place because I'd heard it was a natural hot spring with unparalleled beauty benefits. However, the sign in the changing room clearly stated that it was chlorinated and circulated and filtered! It's certainly a thick, alkaline, simple sulfur spring. But there are plenty of other springs like it... And then there were these gray mineral deposits? What? It said the mineral deposits were white, but what about these? If it was circulated and filtered, the mineral deposits would disappear, right? I'm a huge hot spring lover, and I seek out outdoor hot springs, hidden hot springs, and natural hot springs. I've never been picky about the facilities; the quality of the water is the most important thing, but this place really impressed me. 🤔 It's a cold spring, so heating it is inevitable. Could this water constantly flowing from the faucet be from the natural spring? The cost is unavoidable with heated, circulated, and filtered water, but it was a shame to have come all the way there.
