Yasuragi

This is a wonderfully peaceful hot spring resort, with a pasture right in front of the facility. In fact, we could hear over a dozen cows mooing! 😁 Since it's publicly run, the entrance fee is a reasonable 400 yen. The water quality is good and the place is clean, which is a plus, but the indoor and outdoor baths alone feel a little lacking. The bath design was very well thought out. The edges of the indoor bath are rounded, making it comfortable to lean your head against the edge without hurting, allowing for a pleasant soak. The same goes for the outdoor bath; the shape and arrangement of the stones were excellent. However, occasionally, when the wind direction changes, you can smell the cows. I personally don't mind it as it adds to the natural atmosphere, but some people might find it unpleasant. The biggest problem was the restaurant. According to the flyer, it should be open from midday until evening on weekends, but the curtains were closed and it wasn't open.

Payment is 300 yen in cash. The hot spring water is thick and there are 1 indoor bath, 1 outdoor bath, and quite a few showers in the washing area. The changing room has 3 sinks and 2 hair dryers. Body soap, conditioner shampoo, and soap are provided in the bath. Hand soap and tissues are provided in the washroom. Lockers cost 100 yen back. There are about 30 of them. There is also a spacious rest area where you can get something to eat. The vegetables from the farm near the entrance are cheap and you can't help but look at them. There are many elderly locals visiting, so it's best to plan your visit accordingly.

Located in the countryside, this hot spring felt truly beloved by the locals. The water quality was incredibly smooth, almost like a milky lotion bath. While there are only one indoor and one outdoor bath, there's a hairdryer in the changing room, and at just 400 yen (weekdays and weekends), it's incredibly cheap and very satisfying. At the entrance, they sell vegetables and handmade goods, giving it a warm, relaxing feel. There are even a few cows right in front of the entrance, which might be a nice touch for families with children.

It's a regular hot spring with an open-air bath. It's a small hot spring located deep in the mountains in the countryside. The price is reasonable. Apparently, you can enter for free if you visit on Tochigi Prefecture Day! The inside is fairly spacious and clean. The changing room is a little small, so it can get crowded when there are a lot of people. The shop sells some snacks and instant noodles. Food is also served. Bringing food and drinks into the facility is prohibited.

The regular price is 400 yen for adults, and 300 yen at night, which is a reasonable price considering the current situation. 👍 The photos on the website are from a different time period, but that aside... Both the indoor and outdoor baths are a little warm for hot springs, but that means you can soak for a long time and really warm yourself from the inside out. There's a campground nearby, which is great for campers. 😊
