Yoshinoike Onsen

This onsen in Kawaguchiko has a very old and traditional feel, perfect for anyone looking for a quiet and authentic experience. It’s peaceful with very few visitors, and the bathing areas are separated for men and women. It’s also one of the cheapest onsens in the Kawaguchiko area, which makes it even more appealing. The receptionist is an elderly lady who doesn’t speak English, but she’s kind and welcoming in her own way. If you appreciate simplicity and a truly local atmosphere, this onsen is a lovely place to unwind.

I came for the onsen since everyone had given such great reviews, which i am honestly impressed and do not understand. Price, 750 yens and only 1 hot pool. That's it. One of the most expensive onnes for what it is... lafy at the front desk was nice for sure. Definetly not crowded. In that way is ok. But only 1 pool for 5 ppl is not enough for a good onsen experience in my opinion. Last but not least, relaxation area is very cold, first onsen I came out colder than I came in.

We stayed at an Airbnb off Honcho Street and were recommended this spot by other travelers. After dinner we were unsure what to do as it was pitch dark and everything closes by 6 pm so we figured we would check out this onsen since it was open until 9 pm. As another review had said, this place gave such studio ghibli vibes. It felt like awesome and tranquil with the whole onsen to myself while my boyfriend was in the other male designated onsen.

Found this establishment by chance while travelling in a camper van. My partner and I wished to use the onsen. The lady at the desk was very kind and accommodating. This onsen is thankfully tattoo friendly. 750 yen for 2 hours use was a fantastic deal. There are bars of soap to use for free and small towels for 200 yen. The onsen itself was a lovely temperature and a great size. Lovely find off the beaten track. Thank you to the owners.

This place is amazing. It is super quiet which is good because it’s quite a small space. When I went it was just me. You will need to bring your own shampoo and conditioner and if you don’t want to use communal bars of soap you’ll need to bring your own. It’s also tattoo friendly. The bath is super hot so you may want to add some cold water. I went in a car so I’m not sure how accessible it would be on public transport
