Rating: 3.5 Yuraku no Sato Toride is a hot spring facility that has been in operation for 24 years. Parking is free for guests. Adult admission is ¥690 on weekends, holidays, and certain days. Shoe lockers, changing room lockers, and valuables lockers all require an additional ¥100 (refundable lockers). The facility also offers a rest area, a Thai massage room, a Korean-style body scrub, a comic corner, and a restaurant. This is the best value menu item! Curry udon is a specialty at restaurants in the "Yuraku no Sato" and "Kirakuri" chains, but... For just 100 yen more, it seems like you could also get a set meal♪ Furthermore, from a quick glance at the sample, I was drawn in by the generous portion and appearance, so I chose the "popular" fried chicken set meal (780 yen including tax). *Meal tickets are purchased from a vending machine. After being handed a typical pager at a self-service food court, this arrived 6-7 minutes later... While it's important to note that this is a sub-1000 yen menu item at a super public bathhouse, it was quite filling and a hearty meal that would leave you full! The meat was a little tough and salty, but the juices were juicy as you chewed it. One of the strengths of the Yuraku no Sato and Kirari chains is the high quality of the food they offer compared to their competitors. First, take a break in the comic section, which boasts a collection of 2,000 books, after filling up. When you're full and open a book after a bath, your upper eyelids start to feel heavy. When that happens... Just lie down and take a nap♪ (lol) However, the "rest area" at Yuraku no Sato (Toride branch) only has three "sleeping mats" for each gender, so there's always a scramble for space. But everyone was diligently (?) putting on their masks and taking a nap... As others have said, the facilities are old and cramped, and it's just a heated bath, not a hot spring... At least the food was delicious!

☆ Pros High sauna temperature (92°C) and low cold bath temperature (16°C) Well-stocked manga section ★ Cons The facility is aging, and the unrenovated interior and bath areas are quite noticeable, in a negative way. The showers in the washrooms have weak water pressure, the floors are slippery, The walls and ceilings are dirty and worn. There are signs everywhere encouraging silent bathing, but young people are making a lot of noise. I think it's best to just take a break between the sauna, cold bath, and open-air bath, and then read a book in the manga section if you feel like it. Since it's in Ibaraki, it's open until late at night, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, and there are few hot spring facilities in southern Ibaraki, so it's a rare find. Originally Gokurakuyu, it's clear that the Yuraku no Sato Group continues to operate the facility while also making necessary renovations to existing facilities. Please note that there is no hot spring.

Update: The restaurant will be closing on January 8th, 2024! For the first time, I ordered curry udon and rice at the diner and mixed the rice into the udon! The spicy curry made my nose run, but it was incredibly delicious! Thank you for everything so far! Thank you for your hospitality! When I visited in 2023, they had discontinued the membership card. It seems that membership cards can now be exchanged for soft drink tickets at the diner. The bath mat at the boundary between the changing room and the bath was slimy, and I had a bad feeling about it, but a few hours later my feeling was correct and the area around my little toe became itchy... When I went to the hospital, I was told I had caught athlete's foot 😱 It's been a while since then, but my athlete's foot still hasn't healed. I won't be going there for a while. Everyone, please be careful of the bath mats!

The best thing about this place is that it's not too crowded. The price is also reasonable at 650 yen on weekends. There are four indoor baths and one outdoor bath. The sauna is spacious, and they have special mats to place under your bottom, so it's not direct contact, which is nice and clean. The water isn't from a hot spring, but the components have the same effect. Well, I'm not going to a hot spring, so artificial water is no problem at all. In fact, knowing the components and the effects might even be better! Lol The food is also reasonably priced, which is great! It's not as expensive as a typical public bathhouse. It wasn't crowded, so I was able to relax, which was nice.
