I visited the compact hot spring facility "Yukaraku Atsugi" on a weekday morning. While it offers facilities for a relaxing day, the bathhouse's structure and system are unique. ■ Bathroom Structure: Caution for those with lower back and leg strength The most important thing to keep in mind when using this facility is "moving up and down within the bathroom." The washing area, main sauna, and carbonated spring are on the second floor, but to access the hot spring bath in the open-air area and the Finnish sauna, you must ascend and descend a dedicated staircase within the bathroom. While handrails are installed, navigating the slippery steps in the bathroom can be quite a challenge for elderly people and those with lower back and leg strength. The necessity to move around in order to access all the baths presents a significant hurdle from an accessibility perspective. ■ Source Report: Metaboric Acid Spring Texture and TV Location The spring quality is "weakly alkaline metaboric acid spring." It's a simple hot spring with no taste or odor, and is gentle on the skin with little harshness. ・Source Bath in the Open-Air Area (3rd Floor) There are "hot" and "warm" baths, as well as a standing bath and a tub bath. The hot water has a generous supply, but the chlorine smell was a bit strong in some areas. A TV is installed on the hot water side, allowing you to relax and enjoy a long bath while enjoying the fresh air. The hot water appears to be filled and circulated. The simple hot spring is tasteless and odorless. It's a mild type. The source temperature is 24.2°C, so it's heated. ・Indoor Bath (2nd Floor): Source Carbonated Spring This is a hot spring with carbon dioxide added to the source water, and there's also a TV installed here. The fizzy feeling of the carbonation is quite subtle and mild, but the temperature is just right for watching TV without overheating. ■ Rest Space and Convenience: The Best of the One-Day Course To fully enjoy this facility, the unlimited "One-Day Course (1,606 yen)" is recommended. The one-hour "One-Floor Course" restricts access to the manga section, so it's not the best value for money. 2nd Floor: Extensive Manga Section Despite its compact space, the selection of manga is extensive, allowing you to indulge in a book to your heart's content after your bath. 3rd Floor: Showa-era Inn-Style Rest Area The third floor features a Japanese-style rest area with tatami mats and reclining chairs. It's not particularly spacious, but it's a relaxing space perfect for stretching your legs and taking a nap after your bath. - Smart payment with barcodes You'll be given a wristband with a barcode tag upon entering the facility, and you can pay for all your purchases and meals. There's no need to carry coins, and the system allows you to pay in one lump sum upon leaving, making it incredibly smooth and convenient. ■ Overall Review Everything you need for relaxation is available, including saunas, manga, and hot baths while watching TV. If you're looking for a place to "take the bus from the station and spend the day relaxing in the hot springs and reading manga" or "enjoy two different saunas," you'll be very satisfied. However, I honestly wouldn't recommend it to seniors with limited mobility or hot spring enthusiasts who just want a good hot spring. (Hot Spring Rating: ★3.0)

One of the best experiences I had in Japan. It’s easily accessible by bus from Hon Atsugi station and a perfect place to rejuvenate.

Like many onsen in the Tokyo area, the water isn't really hot enough. One bath was only 38°. That's too cool. Sigh...
