Yunoyado Rakusan

This is a repeat guest. This time, we stayed with our 5-year-old and 0-year-old children. The soft tatami flooring throughout the entire building is a delight for children. The spacious Japanese-style room with a kotatsu table was also great, allowing adults and children to relax together. The Kamado restaurant, which is a half-buffet style, serves gentle Japanese cuisine that is popular with people of all ages, and our children were delighted. The bath was just the right size, so we could enjoy it with our children. Above all, the staff's hospitality was fantastic! While they don't have waitresses who do everything for you, they were very considerate of our needs during meals and were very kind to our children...I love this perfect balance and am a big fan. I would definitely stay again. Regarding children's facilities, the restaurant is fully equipped with high chairs and high chairs for infants. Strollers can be left at the entrance. There is a baby bed in the women's bath. There is no baby shampoo or baby chairs in the bath. Children's yukatas are available, starting from sizes around 120 cm. The toothbrushes available as amenities at the front desk are only adult sizes, so if your child can only use small ones, we recommend bringing your own. Meals are served half-buffet style for children as well, with all-you-can-eat toddler meals and Kamado obanzai dishes. There are many mild-flavored dishes, so children who like Japanese food will be pleased. They also provided dishes for infants. We fed our baby food that we brought with us and fruit from the buffet. While the majority of the clientele is not families, there are all the facilities that are convenient for children, so I think you'll have no problem staying here. There's a pool in the summer, so perhaps more families come here? Overall, I recommend it!

I visited the baths for a day trip during the day on a public holiday. As you enter the entrance, there's a shoe locker at the back on the left, so you can put your shoes there. It costs 100 yen to use the locked locker, but it's fine as you'll get your shoes back later. Day trips are limited to one hour and cost 1,000 yen per person. There's a clock in the changing room when you enter the bath area, but there aren't any clocks in the large public bath or open-air bath. There are lockers for valuables in the changing room, but these can be used without coins. As stated on the website, the hot spring water is a thick, alkaline hot spring. Soaking in the open-air bath while watching the snow was also exceptional. There is one large indoor bath, and the open-air bath has a large ceramic bath and a rock bath. The source water is said to be 53°C, but the temperature of the entire bath is adjusted by adjusting the amount of hot spring water without adding water. I realized later that you can see the clock in the changing room from the rock bath, so I recommend that day-trippers use this as a guide. By the way, if you stay overnight, there is of course no one-hour time limit. There was a strong wind on the day I visited, but thanks to the hot springs here I was able to stay comfortable and not get cold even after several hours. The famous Fukasawa water that I soaked in after my bath was also cold and delicious. Next time I'll definitely stay overnight.

I used to live in Japan and still come back once per year. I have stayed in many ryokans, but I have to say that this was the best one ever. The genuine friendliness and courteous service from the staff was impeccable. Very welcoming from the start with hot tea and sweet treat during the check in, all while seated in comfortable reception area. Whenever I made a mistake, like using the wrong serving thongs at the buffet, they quickly fixed the issue and made me feel like it was no bother at all for them. At the end of the stay, coming out to the parking lot to help carry our bags to the car and then to wave goodbye as we drove off. These are just some of the things I remember about the great service. The onsen baths, both indoor and outdoor (ryotenburo) were good, but the highlight was that my wife and I were able to book a private outdoor bath for the both of us, for just 2000 JPY. The food was excellent, both at night and in the morning. These are both included in the cost of the stay , except for alcohol. We ate way too much, but I felt it was easy to digest, compared with Western food. At the end of the dinner service, they bring a wooden lackered pot with meat and vegetables and drop a stone heated to 900C to cook the contents at the table. A very fun experience. All in all, I would highly suggest that you try this place out.

I stayed here on a weekday, with breakfast and dinner included. The rooms were very clean, and the inn seemed to be barrier-free as well. The hot spring water was relatively warm (around 40°C?) and had a slimy texture. By carefully adjusting the temperature, the water's natural properties are preserved without dilution. The food was delicious and visually appealing. Dinner was a set course + buffet, which I really appreciated being able to adjust the portions myself. The course portions were enough to leave an average adult male 60% full, and it was great that I could enjoy the buffet to its fullest. The staff were generally very hospitable, and it was a very pleasant, heartwarming experience. I would definitely stay here again.

Located in Bandai Atami Onsen in Koriyama City, this cozy inn has just 20 rooms. It was very quiet and comfortable. Dinner was a half-buffet, and we were completely satisfied with stews, oden, Rakuzan hot pot, and other dishes. Breakfast was also buffet-style, and the food was delicious. The baths include an indoor bath and an open-air bath. Private baths are available for a reasonable 2,000 yen. The inn offers a relaxing atmosphere unlike a large hotel.
