Yu~topia Kannami

There is a free bus that goes around the station and other places, but if you're using it round trip, you'll need to check the timetable and adjust your schedule as there are only a few buses. For 700 yen, you can use the hot springs and the walking-only pool for 3 hours. As I was walking, an old man with a net came over and told me to get out of the pool while he was looking for something that had fallen, so I left. Maybe because I can't swim, it was empty. Maybe because it was the first three days of the New Year, the hot springs had quite a few washing areas, but it was crowded with people lining up. You could get a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji from both the pool and the open-air bath. The water is colorless and odorless, and doesn't feel like a hot spring. They had a yuzu bath in the smaller outdoor bath, but it was a shallow bath which was nice when it was empty, but when it was crowded it was like a half-body bath and it was cold. It was crowded, but perhaps because of the waves, there were only three free hair dryers, but I was able to use one right away. It seemed like regulars brought their own hair dryers. The rest area was spacious with tatami mats, and they had free tea and a few manga. On the way back, I couldn't make the bus, so I walked to Oba Station, which took less than 15 minutes, but the road was quite dark at night.

I do not recommend visiting the place at all if you are not from that town! I travel a lot and been to many places and many countries, but this place need to have a real change in the way they do things! If you are a foreigner or a Japanese from other cities you should not travel to visit this spa. There are much nicer places and those places don’t discriminate against you. Not recommending this place at all. Very disappointed! They did not allow us in! They said only the residents of Kannami could enter! My friends wanted to go there and they have a villa in the mountain within a 15 min. drive from the center! And I was just going to wait in the car for them. We all have covid vaccination and yet if that was their way to reduce covid cases, then their approach is wrong. My other Japanese friend also went there the day before, and his car plate was from Kanagawa - he was also refused entrance. Also, he is fully vaccinated for covid! I am disappointed and dissatisfied with such type of service and business. It does not make any sense if their argument for refusal of people outside of their city was to reduce the spread of Covid virus even if the people from outside of their city were fully vaccinated. 👎👎👎👎👎 5 thumbs down for horrible service!

Modest looking Onsen but facilities were very good! Two types of sauna, one where you are lying and the other is the classic one. A cold bath right next to it. Multiple hot bath, some jacuzzi and bubble bath. Outdoor bath is nice, there is also a waterfall on demand, nice for self massage haha.

Can't go if you have tattoos. Someone called, and they said it was okay, but we got there, and it wasn't (which is the case for most). They offered a private room which looked beautiful but we didn't have time to wait. They offered a full refund and were very helpful.

Just FYI they allow small tattoos if you can cover them. If you have multiple tattoos you won’t be allowed to go in.
