湯谷温泉 弥山荘

April 29, 2025, Midday Bath and Lunch I arrived around 9:40 AM and waited in my car until the 10 AM opening. Around 50 minutes later, a local-looking person arrived, quickly got out of their car, and went inside. I looked closely at the sign at the entrance and realized the place was open (lol). The bath fee was 500 yen, and lockers for changing clothes were free. However, there were only two lockers, one on the top level, and only about 80% of the bottom level had locks. Rinse-in shampoo and body soap were provided. The main bath was clear and colorless, and I think it was well water. It seemed to be boiled well water, and the water temperature was 40°C on my own thermometer. Next to the main bath was a small bath filled with hot spring water. It was slightly cloudy, had a slight iron-like scent, and the water temperature was 36°C. In addition to these, there were two other baths, similar to kiln baths for single people, also filled with hot spring water at 36°C. There was no open-air bath. The thermometer in the sauna read 70°C, but it actually felt like it was around 80°C. The cold bath isn't automatically refilled, so you have to open and close the faucet yourself. It's cold, but warm enough that you can stay in for a long time. There were five chairs in the bathroom where you could rest after the sauna. The temperature is generally low, so I felt like this was a facility for people who like to soak in lukewarm water and warm up slowly. After the bath, I went to the dining room around 11:15 and ordered the Irodori Gozen (1,200 yen). It was empty, so my food was served in about 10 minutes. There was certainly a wide variety of food, and the taste wasn't bad, but the food felt like it was just opened from a bag and served frozen. The shumai had a dry skin, and the main dish of fried white fish reminded me of a Filet-O-Fish. It's located deep in the mountains, and the roads are narrow in places. Please drive carefully if you're planning on visiting.

The road was quite narrow, and I wondered if there was really a hot spring there! But there was a bus stop along the way, and the navigation system guided me safely to my destination. It was 500 yen for adults. It felt like a hidden gem, and the water was amazing! 😊 There was a bathtub filled with lukewarm water (maybe with a hint of salt), and soaking in it really warmed my body. I was on my way back from Sanbe, and it completely relieved my fatigue. There was also a sauna. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were available. Lotion and emulsion were also available by the sink in the changing room. There was a place to eat, but it was currently only open for lunch. There was a vending machine for milk and ice cream, and a small shop where you could buy souvenirs. I liked it so much that I would come back if I was nearby. I'd definitely use it again if I was in the area. 😊

♨️Free-flowing hot springs are the way to go!♨️ Shimane hot spring tour 🚙💨 It was quite deep in the mountains. When I arrived, there were only two cars in the parking lot. Maybe my timing was good?! Hoping for a unique hot spring! ︎ The changing room was impressive, with large lockers and locks. There was no unpleasant chlorine smell when I entered the bath. However, two of the baths were circulating hot springs?! Three were free-flowing hot springs.👍🏻 The free-flowing hot springs were low-temperature, but the pleasant aroma and lukewarm water made for a long soak. The circulating hot springs were just the right temperature, so perhaps alternating between baths would be fun? The baths also had pink water, which was fun. There are three lukewarm baths in total. The two tub baths in particular are fantastic, as they give off a real hot spring vibe. You can relax and unwind in the bath. The baths that change daily are at normal temperature, making them very comfortable to soak in. The sodium chloride springs are gentle on the skin and are expected to have skin-beautifying effects. There is also a mist sauna, and it's a bargain at just ¥400. The only problem is that the road leading to the bath is narrow. If you have a car that is over 1850cm wide, please drive safely. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are all provided. There is a wide selection of souvenirs and drinks, and there is also a restaurant. Towels are reasonably priced at ¥100. The customer service is also excellent. It's a great hot spring.

I visited because I found a good deal about this hot spring, which is free-flowing. It's heated, water-repellent, and disinfected with circulating chlorine. Perhaps because of the added water, the taste is slightly sweet, like the sweetness of salted watermelon. There's no detectable chlorine smell. It's shallow and cloudy, with a transparency of about 2 meters. It's like a cold spring or mineral spring from the past. It's now a hot spring, but it's good for those who like lukewarm water. It's perfect in the summer. As of September 2022, adults pay 400 yen.
