Dongnae Spa Outdoor Foot Bath

We visited on a Sunday just after opening (after 10am). It was so crowded that there was nowhere to sit. It seemed like most of the people were elderly locals. Like the many hikers in front of Onsenba Station, I felt that middle-aged and elderly people are more health-conscious than in Japan. Because it was that time of day, we were the only foreigners and tourists there, so we felt a little out of place. It's free to use. There was a person who seemed to be a management staff member or a volunteer, and he explained the procedures and precautions in Hangul. I think you can understand 30-40% of it with gestures. If you use Japanese common sense and etiquette, you'll be fine. The water temperature is high (40-42℃), and your feet will start to tingle immediately. ・Touching the water with your hands is strictly prohibited (You will be warned immediately) ・No arbitrary photography (This is what it says on the sign in Hangul. So it's OK if you get permission?) ・Bath time is about 15-20 minutes (However, this rule doesn't seem to be followed. As proof of this, the turnover rate is very low. It's like a test of endurance. I don't understand Hangul at all, but I could tell from the scene that the staff was urging people to "You guys, 20 minutes has already passed. Is it about time to go?" It seems their voices were not heard, though.)

In addition, an 87m-long urban stream with clear water was created next to the existing open-air footbath installed in 2005. A mushroom-shaped mist fountain, a mini vertical fountain, and night lighting facilities were installed around the stream. On the afternoon of the 7th, Dongrae-gu held a completion ceremony for a 208㎡ open-air footbath at 154 Oncheon-dong. The open-air footbath, which can accommodate about 40 people at the same time, has 64 lockers to store users' shoes and other belongings, a towel rental station, acupressure bath, a pergola, and a cold water bath. Dongrae-gu plans to pour about 10 tons of hot spring water of 40-63 degrees Celsius into this footbath every day. Footbaths are known to stimulate the muscles and joints around the feet and ankles, where important blood vessels of the 12 meridians of the human body are concentrated, with hot water, thereby improving blood circulation throughout the body and preventing and treating foot fatigue, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, lethargy, irregular menstruation, back pain, arthritis, etc. The water temperature of the Dongrae Hot Springs District is about 63℃, and it is said that drinking the slightly alkaline saline spring water is effective for chronic gastrointestinal diseases and gastrointestinal muscle weakness.

I went with a friend from Singapore in early fall, and while walking, I stumbled upon this oasis. After soaking my feet in the hot tub for a while, the walk felt much better. It also relieved my foot fatigue. However, it was so hot I couldn't stand it for long. But the elderly people around me seemed fine, and my friend was surprised. By the way, we were the youngest and the last to go in, but we left first. The hot spring is behind the Nongshim Hotel, so go check it out. Busan's Dongrae Hot Springs are famous.

There will be an uncle who will guide you to rinse your feet in the shallow pool and then soak your feet in the hot spring pool. It is managed by someone and there is no charge. Don't worry, any mistakes in the steps will be corrected.
