Hakgasan Hot Spring
This is a very nice spa, surprisingly because of the size it only showers but they have restaurants as well. I didn’t eat but it looks like there is a lot to choose from, I posted menus in English. The men’s area has seven different pools the temperatures are not very hot or cold but they make up for it in size and accessibility. There are several hot saunas but everything is in Korean so I am not sure what all the different pools and saunas are for. The outside area is very big with three pools one cold pool. This spa is big even though there were lots of people it didn’t feel to crowed. There are plenty of places to lay down and sleep if wanted. There is a barbershop as well. Parking could be a problem I came early 0630 and it was almost full. Very comfortable and relaxing spa.
English explanation: this is a Korean bath house. On entry your receipt will give a number, which is your locker number. Had trouble with my foreign credit card, I recommend cash (6500 won regular entry, the entry kiosk will give change for a 10000 bill). Put shoes in locker and take key. Go inside and find matching locker to disrobe. This is a nudity-friendly (gender segregated) place. Shower, brush your teeth, maybe shave. There is a barber inside too. Go into the various hot pools and saunas. Relax. Come out to the locker room and dry your hair, put on some lotion, and get a broiled egg and a drink. Downstairs is a small food court. Smoking areas are outside, upstairs and downstairs. Families welcome, you will see people of all ages.
Great public bath with great facilities. Many showers stalls both standing and sitting, to get clean with excellent water pressure. Many good sized mineral soaking pools of different temperature and different sauna rooms to choose from. Because it is operated by the city it is super inexpensive also. Highly recommended if you need some quality time to soak your sore muscles.
An amazing place for relaxing and and taking a day off. The place is huge and looks super organized, this hot spring has been there since ever. The place is surrounded by beautiful view. And on top of that, it has a huge parking lot since it has so many customers. Taking the bus No.11 from the bus terminal can drop you in front of the place
As a foreigner with a lot of tattoos it was a very relaxing experience. The facility is well maintained and affordable, the food is good too. Very recommended if you are visiting Andong!
