허심청 온천탕
Extensive, indoor mixed-gender spa featuring natural hot spring water & a Japanese restaurant.
It was an experience... You definitely shouldn't go there if you want to relax and come down. It's pretty hard as a foreigner to understand what's going on and what to do, because you don't get an explanation of how a Spa works in South Korea. The sauna area is more like an entertainment centre. In the Finnish sauna is a TV running and showing some K-Drama. People are using their phones inside of the sauna in the mixed area. I don't know how their phones survive this, anyway. I was freezing as soon as I got out of the sauna, because my clothes had (of course) been wet. There is a gaming centre, a Fotobox and also a gym. In the foot bath area and the massage chair area is K-pop music blasting out of music boxes. At least the thermal bath area was nice and quiet. I just wished there had been an explanation for what the different water types are good.
If you’re looking for a relaxing time, avoid this spa! There were so many annoying kids screaming, running around and splashing me. There were loud grunting old men. The facilities feel shabby and old. For example The flooring in the changing room was cheap plastic that felt like it was peeling off when you walked around. There were also tons of steps so it was easy to to trip if you’re not careful. Why do they love steps so much in Korea?! It felt cramped, cluttered and overcrowded. The pressure showers were leaky and there was often mildew wafting through the air. The one thing I liked was the outdoor baths, but they were also overcrowded. I highly recommend going to Spa Land instead, it’s much more comfortable to move around and it feels more premium and clean in every way. I will never come back to this spa.
The facilities aren’t great, but that’s not even the reason for the one star. The worst part was the massage - easily the worst I’ve ever had. The masseur kept applying unhealthy pressure on my bones: direct pressure on my shoulder blades, pressure on my legs while my knees were pressed against the table, etc... When I was lying on my stomach, my head was twisted to the side, which strained my neck. Bottom line - zero understanding of human anatomy and zero professionalism. I was sore for days, and not in a good way. My worst experience in South Korea.
It is a large hot spring in Busan. The interior is very spacious and there are various types of hot springs, so you can enjoy a bath. With the keys received when entering, you can use shoe cabinets and closets, and purchase drinks. When you go out after the hot spring, you return the key to the information desk, and it tells you the total amount used at this time. Here, you can pay all the money you've spent so far.
Excellent experience!!! Spa gives you an idea on the Korean bathing culture and tradition. Staffs speaks English and also the signs and notices are in English. Take the option and book a body scrub session. Amazing!!!! Be aware genders are separate in different areas for the bath. You have to strip down completely. Don't be scared it is normal. For me as a foreigner it was an excellent experience.
