회산백련지

This is said to be the largest native lotus pond in Korea. When I actually visited, I saw that it was truly large and full of lotus flowers. There's also an auto camping site. A water park was also open for the festival. There are plenty of parking lots, but I imagine it might be difficult to find during the festival. The lotus flowers aren't in full bloom yet, so I didn't get to see the vibrant waves, but the blooming lotus flowers are beautiful. They're divided into red and white, and there's a deck between them, making for a nice stroll. However, it's incredibly hot in the summer, so it's best to visit early if possible. It's not far from Muan-eup. There's also the famous Baekryeon Cafe. If it's hot, you can enjoy a cup of coffee and escape the heat. There's no admission fee. Even after the lotus festival, you'll still be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery. If you're passing through the Mokpo-Muan area, I highly recommend stopping by.

I happened to stop by Jeongso while having some time to spare after going out for a meal nearby, and it turned out to be bigger and nicer than I expected. It is a very large-scale place where you can hold a lotus festival and go camping. Since summer is the peak season for lotuses, the heat is unavoidable, but it is somewhat bearable because there is a shuttle that circles the park. Of course, it is a paid service. Even if it is not the lotuses season, I think it would be nice to visit when the weather is cool.

This is probably the only place I've seen with a lotus theme. I've seen a lotus field near the Gyeongju National Museum before, but that one was just a plain lotus field. This one is well-equipped. There's also a water park for children, but it seems closed due to COVID-19. However, what can I do about the meerkats and prairie dogs that were brought to this seemingly random zoo? The livestock shed was still under construction, so they were under temporary rain cover, which was both pitiful and adorable.

This recent renovation has transformed it into a truly magnificent place. It's a blessing to be able to use this place (the park) for free. With a zoo, playground, and other great places for children to play, beautiful landscaping, and a spacious waterside park filled with lotus flowers, it's truly the best park in the Mokpo area.

Lotus flowers are growing in abundance. Visit around the second week of August to see them in abundance. If you need some healing, this is a great place to visit. There are various facilities, including a small zoo, a small swimming pool (closed due to COVID-19), and an auto campsite.
